Definitely a valid argument to be made that Marvel’s become overly reliant on familiarity with other properties. The interconnectedness is part of what makes the films unique, but it’s also a frustrating barrier for folks who aren’t willing to devote 10-20 hours of their lives each year to watching every MCU

Sure. It’s more than there is a need for it to be surmounted. It had just occurred to me that there had been multiple movies/shows that had completely bypassed me to the point that they were already making sequels from them. And I also said that’s fine with me. I wasn’t trying to argue against their existence or

BUT IT’S NOT WHERE YOU THINNNNNNNKKK

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Now playing

nothing in their presentation stood out. Ant-Man, Ironheart, Armor Wars, and Captain America: New World Order

“How to deal with these star upon which so many of our beloved characters wish come true?” she asked.

hell yeah

Natasha was either never, or almost never referred to as “The Black Widow” in the movies, so why should Yelena Belova. That’s true of many of the characters, that their comic book names are rarely, if ever used in the movies. Wanda Maximoff was never called The Scarlet Witch until the end of her series, after multiple

“Announces”? They announced this in December 2020, almost two years ago.

No, no. Obviously this is some kind of remark about how superhero films aren’t real cinema, and we should take that dichotomy to its most extreme discourse.

the fight sequence in Snoke’s chamber and when Holdo blew up all those Empire ships were IMO the most thrilling sequences in the last 3 movies. The whole subplot on the “Las Vegas” planet was a complete misfire but I like that Johnson at least addressed something I had wondered all along about the Empire’s “military

I’ve seen every Star Wars movie (counting only the 9 main one’s) in the theater since I was 4 in 1977. I never want to rewatch Rise of the Skywalker ever again. It’s shot better and not as dumb but as bad if not worse than episode 1 and 2!

Drive Like Jehu’s LPs and EP are all amazing. You can also go back a little (for John and Rock) and include Pitchfork’s releases to that list.

I get that they’re probably just being professional, but that statement from Paramount is pretty classy. It’s nice to see people/organisations not tearing eachother down now and again.

Most identifiable/nearly universal icon from that era, maybe?

The nostalgia for Blockbuster is disgusting corporate revisionism. It was a shitty chain with puritanical values that put small business owners out of business by using their size and money. Fuck Blockbuster.

Haven’t watched much of the show yet but this news makes me excited because it sounds like they are going to embrace Sandman’s partial anthology aspect where sometimes the comic would just tell one off stories that just involved Morpheus or another Endless or just even aspects of the idea of what a dream is.    I hope

Seriously, a recap without any review aspect is... well, useless.

so in which reality/society men are allowed to “hulk out” in their everyday lives?

Look, one’s with no ads and one’s without ads! Whaddya need, a map?!
