Doesn’t seem like “Abusive Alcoholic Mummy” would fit Saudi Arabia’s cultural mores, but they do love pieces of shit, so I guess it’s a tossup.

I said at the time that it captured the spirit of the FF well enough, and Chris Evans as Johnny Storm was a revelation. That second one, though. Woof.
She’s a rapper, so, no.
100% I bet this one wasn’t bullshit, tho.
Actually, he said, “HE’S NOT DEAD!!!,” which sells it better and lets you read it in his voice, but the point remains the same. But here’s the thing: No he’s not?
“If I gave two fucks, two fucks about streaming numbers/Would have put Lemonade up on Spotify,”
Man, am I the only one that finds lyrics like this deeply off-putting? If I hear a word like “Blog” or “Facebook” or “Spotify” in a song lyric, I just turn it off.
I’d say the main issue is that someone, at some point, decided that their movies were “important,” and not just fun genre trash. Bound was a good time, and The Matrix holds up remarkably well. Beyond that, their movies were expected to be something more than mere entertainment, and very few artists will hold up well…
I’d argue that, if it was an intentional reference to Radioactive Man, then it missed the point. Wolfcastle failing to understand that he’s blowing a pun by speaking the catchphrase clearly is not the same thing as Arnold Schwarzenegger saying the catchphrase correctly with an accent.
I guess I just thought of fourth wall breaking and commenting on the existence of cinematic universes as being pretty central to the first two movies, so I assumed that those were things you didn’t like about the first two movies as well. I stand corrected.
Man, remember when people pretended to be mad about M.I.A.’s middle finger? Oh, the Twenty-teens. Such an innocent time.
More than one, actually, and they’re great.
I still think of Gina Torres as being “from” Firefly, and Rick Hoffman I guess I know from Postal and Thanksgiving (I thought he was in The Boiler Room but apparently that was Vin Diesel?!) I’d still think that adding Judge Judy and Megan Trainor into the mix kinda weakens the “Suits reunion” angle, but clearly my…
But why would one click on an article about the sequel, watch the trailer, and then comment on it if one didn’t like the other movies? “Yep, I don’t like this one either.” Cool, good to know!
Suits, the USA Network original program that’s been off the air for 5 years? How could anyone have missed that?
Except it wasn’t funny? The premise was “Arnold has an Austrian accent.” Schwarzenegger has been a well known public figure for 40 years at this point, surely we, as a nation, aren’t still laughing at how he pronounces “er” sounds.
Okay, cool, but what about the first two films made you think that this would be any different?
Funny, I’m an adult with friends, a life, a career, hobbies, things that make me happy, plus a beautiful wife, a cool band, and a membership to my local arthouse cinema, and I will be seeing this movie opening weekend.
Homage is a noun. One pays homage to something. Sorry, just a pet peeve that comes up shockingly often on this website.
That Oasis, Lenny Kravitz, or Mariah Carey are being considered before Devo, B-52s, INXS, Eno, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, King Crimson, The fucking MC5, Iggy Pop, Slade, Soundgarden, Thin Lizzy, or any of the 100+ more deserving bands that haven’t been inducted should be a clear indication of exactly how hidebound and…
Oh yeah, I can relate to that. Let’s just say that my first high school band is also eligible for the RRHoF this year.
