The article says “it looks like he’s tracking big game hunters and poachers”

Now playing

AI is already doing a great job of creating the content I desire.

I’ve only ever worked in small shops (and only closely with HR, never directly, despite my certification) but I’m honestly kinda surprised by the vitriol here. HR when done right (at least IMO) is more about advocating for labor as it is about advocating for management. No doubt, there are people who are bad at their

I keep repeating (and repeating, and repeating) to all my fellow Gen-X dudes in the office that if you have to look over your shoulder before telling a joke, that’s a pretty good sign you shouldn’t tell that joke.

I’m mostly worried about missing out on event announcements, concerts, wrestling shows, etc. That, and there are a few parasocial relationships with public figures I admire/respect that I’ll miss, but that’s probably for the best, all things considered.

Can’t someone be offended by a joke and just tell the joke teller it was a shitty joke, instead of trying to get the joke teller fired?

I logged out a couple of weeks ago, and its been nice. But Twitter eliminating protections for trans folks feels like a last straw. Fuck that shit.

Having been hired for a job, and then had the person I reported to swapped out after I accepted, I think “this is not what I signed up for” is a legitimate gripe, but I take your point.

Time will tell which is more accurate. But 25 years working in offices has taught me that “not named” is not synonymous with “not credible.”

If you’re talking about modern rap, then yeah. But the “golden age” had a wide range of cadences and styles that I’d wager would be a lot tougher for AI to ape accurately.

With the caveat that I have no opinion on this one way or the other, and have no plans to watch this show, that line of thinking cuts both ways. Who’s more likely to call attention to a toxic working environment? An actor who likely signed an anti-disparagement clause, and who is contractually obligated to promote

Wasn’t there a story recently where he was complaining about intimacy coordinators?

Running the risk of sounding like the out of touch curmudgeon that I very much am, I think the verisimilitude here says more about Drake’s shitty rapping than it does about the powers of AI.

Lord, this piece is a mess.

But, like, how would Luke have even known the mistakes that were made in the past? He never talked about it with Ben, Yoda, or Vader, the only people that would have known.

They say the movie will “tell the story of rebuilding the New Jedi Order and the powers that rise to tear it down”.

I’d be truly surprised if the entire film were about Rey just rebuilding a Jedi Academy. More likely, IMO, is that this is what she’s been up to during the time jump, and then, you know, something else happens.

Luke is still very much around, and in his physical prime

Wholly anecdotally, it seems to me that The Room appeals largely to a millennial/gen-z crowd who might have missed out on the bad/good old days of grabbing something off the shelf at the video store and being FLOORED by something surprisingly, terribly wonderful. The kids I know who are super into The Room seem to

I think there’s one more layer to that stinking onion: I believe he set out to make the Room an actual proper film, and failed spectacularly. Then, when the midnight movie cult developed, he pretended to be in on the joke to save face, but also attention is attention, you know? And now, he’s a trapped. A shitty filmmak
