I don’t think so. Looking at the data, I don’t think anyone could have. People are saying Bernie or Joe Biden would have. No, they wouldn’t. The antisemitic discourse has been rampant this entire year and Biden worked for the Black man who these voters are reacting to. That’s oversimplifying, I know, and I could go on

Exactly. This is what I’ve tried to tell people this whole godforsaken election cycle, especially liberals who didn’t want to vote for Clinton and whose excuse was “Trump’s actually not going to be able to do those extreme things, he’s just using them to get votes.” IT DOESN’T MATTER. The mainstream politicians he

Then I see that 53% of white women voted for this sentient sack of rotting pumpkin innards.

I was a Bernie supporter who hated Clinton. I hated her for her corporate shilling, her fracking and her hawkishness, to name but a few. But I voted for her because Trump.

Who said the Clinton couldn’t fail. Obviously she did. And correct me if I’m wrong, but the Dem primary was pretty much the same as all other Dem primaries, where there are winners and losers. So why keep crying about Bernie? Would you have been crying for Clinton, if Obama had lost eight years ago?

I nearly lost it on twitter when someone tried to blame black people because only 88% voted for Clinton versus 93% for Obama. Oh but you don’t want to talk about the white women who voted in droves for Trump?

I freelance at WNYC, and I produced an interview with Susan Sarandon a few months ago. She is the only guest I have ever encountered there who made our interns get her iced coffee, and she is also trailed by a woman whose whole job is to handle her makeup.

How about “fuck the american electoral system”?

I posted this on a different thread, but am re-posting it here with a slightly different ending, given Kara’s excellent article:

Hillary deserved better than to lose to this buffoon or to lose because people didn’t like her personality, but did that of her racist, sexist, xenophobic competition. FOH that was such BS.

Not to mention the fact that she was also running against Putin, the FBI, and Wikileaks. You have to wonder how things might have turned out on an even playing field. Let’s all just pray that we survive to 2020.

What the fuck is this bullshit? Clearly getting Jill Stein to 5% was the most important thing to be accomplished in this election. I can’t think of anything more important than ensuring that she gets another $3 million or so to run this vanity project again in 2020. Really, nothing besides that was at stake in this

And she won the popular vote.

I am a cisgendered heterosexual white male. I have nothing to lose in a Trump America.

As bad as we are feeling, can you imagine how she feels? All that time, money and effort for nothing! She also has to concede to someone who has threatened to jail her.

I’m with her....still.

oh my god, i am crying at work. This is so sad and this is an incredibly brave and gracious way for her to concede.

Grace under fire.

This. She has been full of grace. I have come to admire her so very much.

I felt such incredible pride watching her concede—never have I admired her more than her confronting the greatest wall of adversity any of us has ever faced in public life. She was truly presidential through each oncoming wave of adversity and malice, starting 18 months ago. She WAS the president during her speech,
