Issues of socio-economic status and race notwithstanding...we both know that isn’t true. The standard police uniform has become substantially more militaristic in the last 20 years. It’s pretty rare to see an officer on patrol without a kevlar body vest in even the most gentrified neighborhoods.

You haven’t see modern cops recently, have you?  In some areas they are better equipped than soldiers, but less well trained in the using the weapons.

If people threaten and go over that line then I have no sympathy for them because that’s just dumb. But I have no issue with people that provide valid criticism of Epic/EGS & devs/publishers taking their exclusivity bribes.

Are you talking about the general anger at Epic or these particular devs? Also it’s not just ‘a mother fucking storefront’, it’s Epic attempting to bend the open market on PC to its will so it can split it and in return make more money off of it. Nothing excuses the threats and harassment the Ooblets developers have received. Nothing excuses the Ooblets developers’ needless provocation, either, and yet you continue to excuse it, and for what purpose?

Seriously. Harassment isn’t the answer but the initial announcement of the EGS exclusivity was soooo bad. So bad that just reading it, I knew they were about to get pummeled worse than the other EGS exclusives.

It is possible to disapprove of Epic’s exclusivity practices—and to be disappointed that a game you’ve been looking forward to has become an EGS exclusive (almost certainly for a period of no more than a year)—without resorting to shitting all over devs who decide to take the deal.

Unlike the US, Japanese executives don’t make a huge amount of money and they do sometimes take pay cuts for the company. Iwata cut his salary by half when the company wasn’t doing well so that they wouldn’t have to do any layoffs.
