Sometimes, a witch hunt is not an answer.

Uh, who said she’s a progressive? I’m pretty sure that a woman who has TWICE called police regarding illegal/suspicious behavior by black women in her dorm building isn’t much of a progressive but more of a racist. I’m pretty sure that’s part of the definition of being a progressive: no racism.
I’m not saying it’s right, though I do think that the vitriol and blame needs to be dumped on the caller’s head. That behavior is the root problem, from what I can see, and this seemed to be a case of pure spite.
Shit, this could have been me. I’m Black, went to an Ivy, and had a favorite chair in the library that I dozed off in more than once (it was a soft armchair) if I was camped out there until late.
The cops did not follow this girl around or randomly pull her aside for her ID. They were CALLED to the scene.
Disagreed. The cops will bear the brunt of this for responding to a call and following protocol.
When you call the cops, they have to follow the minimum protocol. The cops did not follow this girl around or randomly pull her aside for her ID. They were CALLED to the scene.
Elis aren’t quite so progressive as they want us all to believe. Crimson has its problems, for sure - it still needs its coat pulled for giving Shouty Spice and even shoutier Corey Screwandowski Kennedy School fellowships and then permitting them to only admit certain students - but Eli has a club called “Skull and…
The blame needs to be on the white grad student that wasted the police’s time.
Which is a huge problem. People calling the police because (black=suspicious) and never facing consequences. They reinforce racism. They create potentially dangerous situations. They waste the time of police officers and are harassing people. And there are never any consequences.
College kids sleep all over the place on campus. This is standard practice. Especially the ones that study like hell and fall asleep in the libraries, any empty chair, or in the computer labs.
To be fair, Yale university police did follow protocol and checked ID. Given our current environment with shootings, that is justified.
Seriously, some dean needs to call her in and ask her what her fucking problem is, and to knock it the hell off. Now get out.
Becky McWhitetears needs to get herself some business. You’re that pressed about a Black student napping in a common area? You’re at Yale. Read a book. Do some homework.
Isn’t it in the same state where another Becky McWhitetears basically tried to kill her roommate with biohazards and only got a slap on the wrist and nothing on her permanent record?
And this isn’t even the first time! Terrorizing fellow students and wasting the time of the police (this ranks so very low on my list of priorities, but if there were ever to be consequences for her bleached ass, this would be the deciding factor I’m sure) demonstrating clearly that she is a disrupting factor on…
And yet Becky McWhitetears will face no consequences from the university or police.
Remember when there was an intentional separation of Church and State. Why are we no longer doing that? I certainly hate when politics are brought into a church service. After church in a meeting ok fine but not when I’m there to worship.
Honestly, maybe it’s time to re-think that policy of letting politicians use their church as a platform at all. It’s just unnecessary and irrelevant to what people go there to do. If the politicians are there to worship, fine, may god have mercy on their republican souls. But if they are there to ask for political…
