London is a WONDERFUL city for visitors. So much to see and do, historical places, and also very inclusive for people of all backgrounds. I was lucky enough to live there for a couple years and it will always hold a special place in my heart!

Thank you, he’s very special, he’s currently laying next to me purring away.

I took an Amtrak train from Seattle up to Vancouver, BC. We stayed there a few nights and walked around the city. There’s also a really cool mountain & park (Grouse Mountain), with trails and other activities. If you like to mix city and some hiking, it’s a nice little trip.

Ughhh I just need to vent for a sec. I’m just so stressed out! Got promoted at work (so at least I’m getting a significantly higher salary) but I’m not sure the stress is worth it. The two people above me have left and been replaced with an arrogant fool who actually knows NOTHING, but that doesn’t stop him from

This is Ollie, he’s 14. He was living at the homeless hostel I used to live at and moved with me when I moved into my own place, love him to pieces.

I’m a museum assistant and today we had an unpleasant elderly woman. She felt it was necessary to make rude comments, within earshot, after I briefly greeted her and her husband from my desk whilst working on our programming for next week. She subsequently complained to our museum director about several museum

Pet thread!

In that other thread, a few women talked about using Rogaine. If anyone has used Rogaine for more than 5 years, I would love to know how it’s going. I have started to thin, but had soooo much hair it’s taken a few years for me to get to a point of concern. Now I’m concerned as I see scalp widening (gasp) and it’s time

Wow. This is so early. Yay! I get to procrastinate earlier tonight.

When I was a kid, we knew of Hydrox because they were kosher. My family didn’t keep kosher, we ate everything. But we had friends and relatives who did adhere to kosher dietary rules and they couldn’t eat Oreos because they are (or were?) made with lard. The more you know ...

Heathrow is pretty intense, and it’s pure security theater. My husband and I travel to Europe quite a bit, certainly more than most Americans, and years ago we stopped transiting through Heathrow and pay more and just fly direct.

I make sure to give that building the middle finger and a good loud Bronx cheer every time I see it.

I don’t fear the world ending (much); I’m just really, really pissed off all the goddamn time. Because he’s a hateful liar, and stupid people caused this. Very easy to be pissed off about that.

I finally went back on anti-anxiety/anti-depressant medication this at the beginning of this year and Trump definitely contributed.

I would say hit up the kebab shops (nothing as good unless you’re in Michigan or some place with a lot of Mideast expatriates), walk on the canals, buy some cider from a bodega and drink it on the street, and don’t expect good coffee anywhere but the very hippest of places. Do not eat Mexican food in London,no matter

Makeup = bad

Bea’s of Bloomsbury was one of the most memorable meals I had in London! Highly recommend. Super cute, delicious and reasonably priced. I wanted to do a fancy tea and so I did one at Harrods. While I recommend checking out Harrods, the tea was super expensive, mediocre at best and not at all fancy. A friend later went

Londoner here. Welcome! We are normally a bit shit at appreciating what we have, but a couple of things? The 100 Club. One of the oldest live music venues. I second Camden, particularly Inverness St, great bars. Also, we did a walk that my Mr can not now remember how he found but I think if you Google secret London

I enjoyed going to Hampstead (and Hampstead Heath) and also a walking tour of Highgate Cemetery (you have to be on the tour to get into the overgrown, locked up side); it sounds morbid but is actually really gorgeous looking and historically informative. If you want to do more general tourist-y stuff, then the

A little late to the party and rather new to Jezebel—though I love the idea of Saturday Night Social.

1) Definitely walk as much as you can. If your phone gives you service in the UK for cheep (e.g. I use Google Fi and I don’t pay any extra rates), hook it up to a pair of headphones and walk in London while listening
