Agreed. This was so pointlessly obnoxious and unfunny that I assumed Barsanti wrote it.

Lazy writers who don’t remember/never watched The Edge or Grizzly Man.
I was 0kay in the initial shots, but as soon as I saw their unhelmeted medieval hair, I snorted hard. I had been curious about this movie, mainly because Roose Bolton is in it, but that was not a reassuring first glimpse.
I really think Teigen still only feels sorry for herself for getting called out about it after the fact. Nothing she’s said seems genuinely concerned about anyone’s feelings but her own. It’s really unflattering.
I personally felt like Danny McBride was born to play Joe Exotic.
Yeah I went into Branagh’s Hamlet really wanting to like it and . . . not. Watched it for classes as an English major and also tried to watch for fun, and it never landed for me, though it is pretty to look at and I think Winslet is one of the better Ophelias I’ve seen.
Thanks so much! I'm regretting waiting so long to watch it. :)
Very late to this review and show, but one of the things I’ve really found interesting about Boyd as a character is how much he can overestimate his force of personality. He’s clearly a very charismatic and intelligent person and a character I really enjoy, but he often seems to assume that he can fuck someone over…
8 years late to this party but my first time watching the show. I agree with this 100%. My family is from Appalachia and I was raised in the Ozarks, so I know my rednecks and hillbillies. And Johnny’s always struck me as just a very authentic, believable character. Shit I got family friends and cousins that remind me…
Five years late to this show but just chiming in to agree. I loved that scene so much.
I may be a little biased, but yes, you should.
Yeah he’s a real chameleon, and I’ve been a fan for a long time. I’d actually had arguments with my dad when I was a teenager about some of Lang’s performances. I was like “No way the same guy who was Ike Clanton in Tombstone was Freddy in Manhunter and Pickett in Gettysburg.” I was wrong. I’ve also belatedly realized…
Stephen Lang had a pretty good swipe at people who use what they call “method acting” as an excuse to be an asshole a few years ago too. It was around the same time Jared Leto was infamously being an asshole to his Suicide Squad castmates as a “method actor.”
His performance in that movie is genuinely chilling and some of his mannerisms in it remind me of a relative who . . . had issues. It took me a while to watch Andy again in Andy Griffith reruns and not flinch instinctively every time I saw him.
Gwen Ihnat also interacts with people in the comments. I feel like she is one of the more insightful writers still here who is worth reading and I’ve personally never seen her engage in the really juvenile hot takes, so she doesn’t hide from the commenters like a lot of the remaining writers, who I think know they are…
I believe Stodden over Teigen. Stodden said that Teigen never reached out privately and even had Stodden blocked, so they couldn’t even read the apology, complete with screenshot of Stodden being blocked. Teigen never denied this.
Just realized I got Stodden’s name wrong but it’s too late to edit. Damn Kinja.
As a woman, I am honestly confused about what bearing Teigen being a woman has on the calculus of this. She bullied a minor by telling them to go kill themself as a grown-ass woman in her mid-twenties. And it wasn’t a one-time thing. It went on for an extended period of time, and Teigen bullied other people online a…
I hate Barsanti’s stuff so much I’ve never actually detected any style—I can tell it is him without ever seeing his name because of ludicrous hot takes that contradict themselves mid-article—but I will defer that I might just be missing it because I am so distracted by the shit reasoning he uses.
My overwhelming impression is that Tenreyro is like the new Barsanti, and I mean nothing about that as a compliment.
