I just finished “The Devil You Know.” What a superb episode.

The redemption arcs and friendships are so good! I love how this little disparate group of cynics, oddballs, misfits, and loners come together and become friends (and kick ass).

I got to watch it in bits and pieces during its original run—was in college and grad school, so my viewing was spotty, though I really did like what I saw. This rewatch has been so nice since it is uninterrupted. Think the show does a magnificent job of crafting compelling characters and balancing it with plot. I

Thanks! It dawned on me when I was typing up the list that I’d probably have some additions to my post once I had finished the series. :)

I started season 4 last night and am looking forward to those episodes! I remember really liking them, but I must admit the specifics escape me.

Haha Yes, that one was a lot of fun! So many great comedic moments.

Oh that was a good run of episodes for TGW—both end of season 2 and that point in season 5. I loved how TGW handled the fall-out from Alicia’s decision to leave the firm. It’s an interesting might have been for how she and Will might have settled into an uneasy acceptance of each other as worthy foes. :(

Just finished rewatching Person of Interest season 3, and there are quite a few 3-episode blocks I could pick from it.

Good pick on The Terror. One of my favorite things I’ve watched in awhile!

Glad someone else’s pick was Person of Interest! Just finished rewatching season 3 last night, and it is an excellent season of TV all the way around.

I was totally suckered in to watching season 1 by W. Earl Brown! Damn it, Dan Dority!

Though I am quite fond of my Kurt Vonnegut Secular Saint candle, my Pink Freud coffee mug still in its box wins hands down. Both are gifts from a college friend I’ve stayed in touch with.

I must confess, my only real familiarity with him comes from his Law and Order SVU routine, which makes me giggle every time I think of it. But yes things can definitely be meme-d to death.

SparkNotes was the first site where I had an account, commented on articles, and belonged to an online community. This was approximately 10 years ago.

The Gatsby one is great. I also laughed at the Hamlet pirate one.

Agreed! I have nothing against Tom Hanks—I’m sure he’s a perfectly nice guy, but he always seemed so bland and boring and like it was trying too hard.

He sounds like somebody I went to grad school with. No matter what you told him, he always responded with a very pleasant, “I can see that.” I started telling him increasingly bizarre and demented things to make him snap, but he always just mildly responded with a very sincere “I can see that.”

I still periodically think of that Coco Chanel line and laugh my ass off over it. In a movie full of great comedic performances, he stole the show.

Not watched the movie yet but just watched that clip. Damn that was hilariously bad.

I laughed so hard at this because my dad had a boss about Arnold’s age, except boss man was French. He legitimately was distraught when he first came over to America in the 60s/70s and immediately realized his odds of being a cowboy out West were . . . not good.
