Yeah I liked her in the first season, but I really loved her in the second season. I'm really excited to see her storyline in season 3.

Agreed. As I mentioned earlier, she's one of my favorite female characters and I hope we get more characters like her in other shows.

I also don't get the hate for Chuck, though I also don't think he's necessarily "morally good."

She's my favorite part of the show, and I say that as someone who loves Bob Odenkirk's work on it and Breaking Bad. I wish there were more female characters like her on television. She's a realistic-seeming, refreshing mixture of competence, complexity, and vulnerability.

I'm part of the "target audience" too and can't stand it or her. I have an acquaintance who is really into it, but most of my friend circle also finds it intolerable.

I can see it!

I'm actually surprised by the number of people who think Sansa is actually pulling one over on Littlefinger. I think he's pretty obviously still manipulating the hell out of her. That was really obvious to me in that scene where she confronts him mid-way through the season.

Upvoted for your username. I love Garret Dillahunt. :)

I'm really excited about it but don't have HBO, so I have been balancing between trying to avoid all spoilers and also wanting information.

Sadly, no, I was not in Ohio. :(

I'd say a good 50% of my students when I was teaching college composition spelled definitely as defiantly. It always cracked me up, but I hope my nonstop bitching about it at least taught one of them which word to use.

Same here. I've done book reviews on and off for several years—both as a hobby and professionally—and I try to avoid writing about books I didn't like to focus on books I'd recommend.

Yes, I think a lot of the show's problems would have been solved with a team of writers or even a change of writers, though I know Fellowes would never have let that happen.

Yeah by the end I'm not sure I liked any of the characters. I felt like one of the most glaring weaknesses is that characters never evolved naturally and consequently they never would depart when it would have been logical, so everyone kind of overstayed their welcome. Honestly I think they should have renamed the

That's very true! The production values were always stunning!

Yes I felt like that was much more about motivating a male character in Downton Abbey than what happened with Theon/Sansa in Game of Thrones.

Haha Fair enough! :)

I was wondering the same thing. I mean, who the hell are these people? I've never met them.

McMurtry's bitterness practically radiates off the page in all of his Lonesome Dove sequels.

Yes, he does! I went for years not realizing he was all of these different characters in movies, and I'd always single his performance out as being a highlight. Absolutely blew my mind when I finally figured out they were all him.
