I love Stephen Lang—just rewatched Gettysburg to see him as Gen. George Pickett—and that scene in Manhunter is one of my favorite Stephen Lang moments.

The escape scene is what made me hate that movie. It's so ludicrous and over the top that it just ruined the whole film for me.
YES! I love Manhunter, and Cox is my Hannibal Lecter. I've honestly never really enjoyed any of the other entires in the series, film or television-wise.
Meryl Streep has a lot more self-control than I do. I don't think I could have gotten through filming without murdering him.
Given the complaints about this episode, I am really curious to see what happens next week since ratings for a given episode really tend to be a reflection of audience reaction to the previous one.
To have been a fly on the wall of that meeting. . . .
Mine too! Might just be operating on too little sleep, but I'm almost in tears from laughing at it. I just—I can't believe people not only proposed it but that other people who are not related to them said, "Hey, let's throw some money at that."
I would have gladly watched several seasons of Shannon on a Boardwalk spinoff. "Why must there always be pandemonium!"
I love that one! I actually quote that video all the time!
Also wanted to add that this season, for the first time in a long time, TWD wasn't the #1 scripted show for Sunday. It got trounced one weekend by NCIS: LA. That's got to sting a little.
That's really neat about the culinary degree!
If I were still teaching comp, I'd use this article and the comments as an example of why you don't make arrogant assumptions about your audience agreeing with you.
Agreed. I so like some really sad movies but I have to be in the mood for them.
The only time I ever watched this movie was as a 10 year old in foster care. The family's otherwise nice teenaged daughter sold this to me as "a fun movie" we needed to watch one weekend.
@HolsGG did a wonderful job of analyzing this way better than I could, but throwing in my two cents because I've been following the ratings discussions with way more interest than the show. :)
Try your local library! If they don't have it, they can try to ILL it for you from another one.
I had to use Google Translate for the article because, well, it's been a few years since my French classes in college. But that article was still pretty funny even with Google Translate grammar. Thanks for sharing! :)
I recently discovered Barney Miller, and Ron Glass was instantly my favorite character, which is quite the compliment because I love the entire cast. :(
Okay thanks! I'll definitely check that out!
Hmm Now I want to see that movie. . . . :)
