Fuck, your article and the first comment I read completely miss the point: nobody disputes that the U.S. was justified in scoring as many times as possible, with goal differential being a factor in the standings. It’s about celebrating the 8th or 9th or 10th goal and beyond against an outclassed, clearly dispirited

You do realize that is not what the panel was criticizing. Their comments were about the celebrations, not the score.

I think they were taking issue with the celebrations of the goals rather than the goals themselves-- just my reading of it.  But you’re right, if you include goal differential as part of the determination as to who moves forward, score as many as you possibly can.

LOL! The Jets have a dedicated base of season tickets holders locked in for 3-5 years at a time with a long waiting list, even with one of the highest prices in the league. They’ve also added more seats and are backed by one of the richest people in Canada/world. Florida arena seats 20k x $40 avg ticket price = $800k

Winnipeg is Canada’s 7th largest city, with over 730k people living within the metropolitan area. So yes, it is definitely a city, you fuck. As for the NHL being better off with the Jets out of town, the 13k season ticket holders of a 15k seat arena would like a word with you. Despite being the NHL’s smallest market,

Curious that you, a consumer of the sport, is so invested in its commercial growth. When the culture of a sport is strong, the consumers benefit, and the sport certainly holds a great deal of cultural cache in a city like Winnipeg. I’m all for the growth of the league to less traditional markets, especially when it

As a Canadian who is still bitter about what happens 4 years ago: AHAHAHAHAHHAHA.
