I feel bad that, as a woman, I'm not more appreciative of Claire's first-person narration. And I do like and appreciate it. But I want to know more about what Jamie is thinking and feeling! (I swear, I don't know where they found Sam Heughan, but he's the nicest TV discovery I've had in awhile, maybe right behind Tom

I have it on DVD! I loved it too!

I guess I see the point that (I think) you're making, but Claire was talking to Jamie about Jamie. The conversation wasn't really about the sister's (Jenny's) rape, but about how/why Jamie got flogged. It makes sense that Claire would say that it - the situation - was awful for him. I guess she could have said, "That

I might have liked this episode more than first. Probably b/c there was more of Jamie and Claire, and just Claire. I think that actor and actress have really good chemistry, which shone in this episode. I particularly liked the scene where Jamie was training the horse. Rakish hair. Wide smiles. Oh! And the way that

I don't know how much longer I can hold out, though! I've already started skimming bits and pieces of the first book, since it's available online (which I discovered after falling the rabbit hole one too many times). I'm hoping that watching the series will be enough to tide me over until Xmas break, when I can read Ou

I swear that I've fallen down the Outlander rabbit hole. I'm looking at websites, reading random quotes, looking at Sam's Twitter page, watching YouTube videos. I can't wait for tomorrow's episode. I haven't started to read the books yet because I'd still like to keep my job.

No doubt someone here has already said this, but I'm not sure how I feel about his wife revealing that he had Parkinson's when "he was not yet ready to share publicly." I see that this is now perhaps part of the "public good" that can come from his suicide - I apologize for how that sounds, but I couldn't find another

Isn't "middle America" really "the audience"? As popular as OINTB and all of those other online shows are, there audience is nowhere near as big as even the mid-range successful shows. Demographics might be different, and that shouldn't be ignored, I guess. But middle America is the largest audience.

Thoughtful! I hate asking people to take my picture when I'm on vacation. On a different not, let me be THAT person....."She said her and her husband were "too awkward"..." should be "She said SHE and her husband...."

I agree. I didn't think he was trying to "shame" her at all. He simply wanted an answer.

Is Whoopi really wrong, though? She said that the fiance had said that she hit him first. Yes, people shouldn't be hitting people. And/so/but, if you hit someone, why do you expect them NOT to hit you? You're just hoping he wouldn't? He should be arrested, and if she did hit him first, she should have charges brought

What does "bloodfued continues" mean? This is the first that I heard there was a feud - and it seems like Prinze had positive things to say previously - so when did the feud start so that it's continuing now? The "feud" seems sort of one-sided, anyway.

Good for the restaurant for using this stupid "review" to do something good. But how does the "joke/review" show "disrespect towards women," to use the owner's phrase? It's dumb and pointless, to be sure. But I don't see women as being "the butt of the joke," as the owner says. (I don't see the point of the joke at

I'd disagree with you a bit, or, I'd add that maybe some women - maybe some of the women in front of the show, or a percentage of the readers who made the book so popular - did just discover erotica with Shades. Why should the women be made fun of for liking "weak-sauce BDSM"?

I guess I can understand the mocking/criticizing of the movie. (I haven't read Shades and won't see the movie, I'm sure.) But I don't understand the desire or need to mock the women outside the Today Show, or the people who liked the book or might/will see the movie. Someone described the women outside the show as

Ugh. She just needs to say that she's running so that people can move on to something else. (Ideally, people would just quit trying to get her to say that she's running, but people can't leave that alone.)

All the speakers were so good. I think that Clinton's was particularly good.

I'm confused. Are you saying that Jez does say it's a feminist site? It seems like every time someone says that Jez should be "better" since it's a feminist site, one of the mods or someone else comes in and says that it's not a feminist site.

Actually, doesn't "Jez" say that it specifically is NOT feminist in its orientation/presentation?

Well to me, that's more an example of people being classist, not the actual minimalist "movement" or trend.
