I love his implication that the fact that they were fed and clothed, in addition to not being (technically) directly employed by the US gov’t, somehow helps to counteract the fact that they were, you know, slaves.

This is just perfect.

So many women on stage last night; so many races of women; so many different ages and professions; so many happy and grieving; so many women it was almost like more than half the country (world) are women or something? (it was beautiful and long overdue).

Hey - that’s a very interesting take on his speech last night. I watched and was tuning in and out during the beginning of his speech because I thought it was to your exact point: Hillary in relation to him. Looking at it from your perspective, I do appreciate it now. Thanks.

I am so impressed by the DNC so far. It has inspired me all over again, which I didn’t really think was possible at this point. After the RNC trash fire, I was nervous for the DNC but I look forward to each night now and can’t wait to vote in November.

There were a few people on MSNBC last night that said they didn’t like Bill’s speech (at least the first half of the speech) because it focused on Hillary in relation to her husband, but I had a totally different takeaway. I saw it as a brilliant reversal of the typical “this is my husband behind the scenes” speech

Yeah I’m kind of furious that Bernie and Bill are getting the headlines today; this was Hillary’s moment! She officially became the first female nominee of a major party! And holy crap, I was not super jazzed at first to learn that Elizabeth Banks, Meryl Streep, and Alicia Keys were following Bill... but I honestly

I think we often forget how significant women are b/c of the work they do behind the scenes. But I also think we don’t hold men accountable enough for the invisible work they do/should be doing behind the scenes either. Both must work together to champion families, build strong communities and raise the next

Yeah what I loved about Bill’s speech was the answer to the “Hillary Succeeded because of nepotism” complaint—he made it clear (to me at least) that Hillary Clinton’s career would have been, perhaps, even more successful had she remained Hillary Rodham.

FYI: The Mothers of the Movement portion of the DNC last night was cut from Fox’s broadcast. Nice to know you can omit footage when you claim to offer full broadcast coverage if it's not to your liking.

Yeah!

If it’s sexist to vote for Hillary because she’s a woman, is it also demonist to vote for Trump because he’s literally Satan’s bunghole?

She was my favorite speaker for many reasons, but primarily for not mentioning Trump. Honestly, I’m so fucking sick of hearing his name on every paragraph of every speech! I can just imagine his smug face watching the entire DNC make him the center of discussion. Only thing that would have made this more perfect would

Michelle knows the only that narcissistic clown loves more than the sound of his own voice is the sound of his name and as a result, she gave him nothing.

My brother has lived in NYC for forever and is pretty difficult to impress, but Tim Gunn is one of the people that he went out of his way to tell me he saw in person, just walking by. He was starstruck. (The other two are Donald Fagen from Steely Dan, who spoke to him in an elevator, and the guy who played Spinal

Definitely. I sort of thought when they went all ‘lookie here, who’s being all stroppy!’ she would’ve interrupted and said “sorry, did you actually ask me if I ‘managed’ to read the book upon which the movie I starred in was based?”

Wait but it wasn't addressed that Tracee Ellis Ross apologized profusely to Tyga with NO mention of Chris Brown ?! Is the another level of shade!? I have to know I've been waiting all week for this!!!
