The water droplets in the air thing from the sequel trailer could be done with ultrasounds or super fast strobes. Anyway, it’s a popcorn flick not a documentary. I enjoyed the first one for just that. Magic.
Do not forget, the budget was only $58 Million, shutting down a highway and rolling real cars around would be prohibitively expensive now days. Not to mention, permits, stunt coordinators, pyro guys, etc ..
