The constant music did kind of get irritating at times, but I felt that it paid off when it suddenly stopped. Since it had been playing almost all the way through, I found that really noticeable.

There was an indie film from 11 years ago called Only the Brave that did not whitewash it. It was super cheapo, though, and the direction was…not great.

That may be true, but out of the dozens of examples that I have seen of this, there are only two that I can actually remember. Many have started this preview-type thing where the first few seconds of the video is actually footage from later in the video. I am not sure how that entices people who were already watching the video, but it has become a thing. This can also apply to movie trailer videos.
