What’s truly disturbing about this presidency is that you might find out that it was a MAGA chud, that he was paid directly by one of Trump’s attorneys, that there’s a very short money trail from Trump to the thief, and that there’s an NDA with Trump’s signature on it... and none of that would be surprising.

Trump says the house was robbed, Cummings says they were scared away almost immediately. Many people are saying Trump has inside information about this intrusion and that he personally hired the person. I’m not saying that I’m just saying what many, many people are saying.

If that happened, I would literally throw a huge dance party on the rooftops of Jersey City.

I’m sure Elijah Cummings is looking forward to the day when he can tweet:

It would be “too bad” if Trump fatally rage stroked-out and his disease riddled carcass toppled over and crushed Mike Pence’s soft skull.

But I am happy that in ‘wishing to appeal to everyone,’ he chooses the side of open-mindedness and inclusion rather than that of hatred and division.

I feel guilt for the unintended hurt I may have caused with my ignorance. It took me a while to understand some of these things (I remember my friend Claire patiently trying to explain to me that my discomfort doesn’t override the rights of other people to live as they choose). I also feel guilt for how long it took

That’s not how hormones work though. This is still a gross oversimplification, but to say you can always add them and it’s much harder to take away their affects is the gist. Puberty blockers prevent people from being stuck in bodies that amplify dysmorphia.

I mean duh, but also no child is getting gender reassignment surgery at that age.  Like there is no world where that is even a possibility, it’s such a “well is men can marry men people are gonna marry their dogs!” argument.  It’s just not within the realm of reason.  I think the earliest I have heard of anything is a

I don’t believe anybody is arguing in favor of prepubescent gender reassignment surgery, though, for many reasons. I keep seeing the idea that “Liberals want kids to get surgery!!11!” but I’ve yet to see anybody actually calling for it to be allowed, even among my very liberal friends, several of whom are trans or

Nah he was talking about it in general, not specifically surgery. And yea I not think children’s should be getting that type of surgery at a young age, I do think they’re allowed to choose what they want to wear and how they want to idenify themselves. He’s acting like these parents are the one making the choice.

Yes, at age 3 we need to worry about the irreversible, lifelong repercussions of... maybe wearing different clothes and maybe going by a different name/pronouns.

She was put on the no-fly list and had an entire secret service investigation into her over this, which is definitely over the top. FWIW, I think she also had to like entirely self-finance and do all the back-end work for this concert special.

Decked out in full-on camouflage hunting gear, Nugent wielded two machine guns while raging, “Obama, he’s a piece of shit. I told him to suck on my machine gun. Hey Hillary,” he continued. “You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.” Nugent summed up his eloquent speech by screaming

I read the WaPo article when I was pregnant with my first, seven years ago. It literally destroyed me. I’m tearing up right now just thinking about it. I was so paranoid when I had my son, I would leave my purse in the backseat EVERY TIME. There were sooooo many times when I was tired, so tired I couldn’t think

Somebody linked to me an article with a list of aftermarket sensors.  They are pretty pricey, the cheapest one was eighty dollars.  I think that new parents just don’t want to pay the money, while also wanting to think it could never happen to them.  If those were standard issue in all cars, a lot of people might balk

Better than the stuffed animal: Take off your left shoe and toss it back there.

I remember this happened about 7 or 8 years ago, and the women at work were all talking about it while they ate lunch and watched The View. I made some comment to the effect of it being a tragedy and that we should look to the car manufacturers for responsibility because the technology to fix the issue is available

The WashPost article goes into that too - no one’s buying the aftermarket products, either, because again - no one wants to believe they’ll be that forgetful. It needs to be automatically built in to cars if it’s going to have any widespread effect.

I think that WaPo article should be required reading for everyone.
