I never used to mind him but the backlash is largely connected to him using kickstarter as a way to rattle his begging can for a pretentious movie from the comfort of his mansion made out of gold.

I think it was an av club article (or maybe a commentor) that said that Smallville is a substantially better show if you imagine that Lex Luthor is the tragic lead who's being constantly screwed over by his mysterious and frustrating best friend clark kent. I need to watch Smallville some day. If only there was a way

I've held off watching smallville for that very reason. Either make a zany show or make a good show. It doesn't help that Tom Welling is such a bland actor. I'm glad I was never invested in smallville because that last episode looked horrible. I do hear that Smalville's Lex Luthor was amazing though.

The wonder woman movie will be fun! You'll see! You'll all see! She'll bring laughter and joy and magic and excitment and every day will be a holiday once wonder woman's movie gets here! You'll see! You'll ALL see!

He was also a cloud monster on the last episode of smallville! At least, that's what youtube seems to be telling me.

Hey now! Geoff Johns gave us Darkseid war last year in the comics and that was a fun use of the new gods. Not…you know…groundbreaking or anything…but certainly fun!

The CW kind of destroyed any remaining creditability that poor Vandal Savage had left. But they also gave us a delightful legion of doom, so it's not all bad.

The first thing I ever read that had Darkseid in it was Grant Morrison's Final Crisis. In that story, Darkseid does very little actively, but his mere presence causes all of reality to collapse into hell. All he does is sit and his pure hatred just poisons reality, simply by existing.

Gilliam would have gone nuts with surreal characters like Dr Manhattan. I think Gilliam would have given the entire movie a crazy Brazil pop art kind of vibe. I think Snyder's version is perfectly good but my word, that man plays everything in Watchmen deadly straight.

I think it also helped that old Peggy is in a brief scene slumped down in a bed. I still found her distracting but that's just me. I agree that they nailed a good blend of make up an CGI with Peggy.

That's true. The make up is great in citizen kane. But that kind of old man look (which is convincing but not hugely so) mostly benefits from Orson Wells' crazy amazing performance.

I enjoyed much of season 7, but my feeling was and still is, if Archer wants to do a big serialized storyline then…great! Go ahead and do that! But do it well or at least effectively. Season 7 spun it's wheels building to a big story that ultimately went pretty much nowhere (which retroactively tainted the whole

I read a recent thing where Snyder defended his slavish devotion to the source material by claiming something like "I had to save it from people who would have ruined it". And while I definitely feel he was way too close to the graphic novel, when you read some of the bizarre takes failed adaptations would have

Jackie Earle Haley is pitch perfect as well. 100% brings his character to life. It's a shame that Ozymandias was so cold and bland (the graphic novel implies he comes across as a charming ladies man at least to the general public) and silk spectre was just…ugh. Also, using make up to make younger people seem like old

I never wanted or needed an x-men live action tv show but we know how that turned out. I share your concerns about season 2 but I suppose we have to trust in the prospect of more wonderfully surreal Jemaine Clement monologues and sexy scary musical numbers.

I agree completely. I just binge watched the season and as phenomenal as it was, it was always pretty clear. Trippy, bizarre and surreal yes. But I never found it confusing.

Purcell is pretty central to season 2. Miller takes most of the season off (apparently due to prison break) but reappeared later in the season. They both seem to be locked in for the next season as well.

Hopefully Fargo season 3 proves to be amazing then! I still need to see the Coen Brothers Fargo movie. That's how far behind I am. Legion certainly encourages me to watch everything Hawley ever does now.

Scott Eastwood has one of the dullest looking faces in existence. I've seen him in several movies but I literally can't describe pr even picture what he looks like.

Miller is the gruff bald guy with the generic face and Purcell is the other gruff bald guy with the generic face, only a little bit thicker. But I suppose all gruff looking bald guys with generic faces look alike do they???
