if it was a straw man, why would the author respond to my point? he disagrees with you.

the rape of Sansa explains why she would jump, and its only your opinion that the rapes don't serve any purpose to the plot, an opinion i totally disagree with. however, even if it were true, that the rapes served no purpose towards a given plotline or plot point / twist, that still wouldn't matter. rapes in and by

i sought out your article via google, so clearly i am not against criticism. i also am not saying or implying delusion.

this is where we part ways. you feel that this fiction, this entertainment, needs to do X Y or Z in regards to whatever issue you feel is important, be it gender based or otherwise. thats total rubbish on its face of course, pure nonsense.

don't play coy, you know exactly what i am talking about. when the PC mob lashes out, they slander the books and show with the aim of getting both to stop what they don't like. did u notice for instance, the lack of nudity in the whorehouse Meryn Trant went to? now, was that a reaction or not to the criticism of

i appreciate the reply. i don't think your ideas above were clearly laid out in the article. i think we may not be as divergent as it seemed to me when i first read your piece.

the ad hominem attack, the best you can do.

to put it another way, the people who complain about the rape and violence and so on in a fictional TV show are nothing more than puritans. they can't handle the messiness. and if they further demand the offenders be punished, they are basically little kids wishing the boogeyman away. grow up!

this article's author has their head up their ass when it comes to writing and "trust." just because rape, child murder, whatever etc, happen in a story, does not mean that the offenders must be punished. often in the real world, lamentable tho it is, they get away with it.

when homer was taking out the trash, the song about not gonna make another bart tonight to me sounded like a reference / homage to the steve martin snl monologue about not gonna phone it in tonight.
