Given that iOS 4 runs like a complete dog on my iPhone 3G, I really cannot see how iOS 5 is going to be (sadly) any better.

It's a nice idea but nothing amazing as all it does is look through your friends interests. Maybe it's just me but I was hoping for something which looked through their status updates and posts and inferred recommendations from them.

My point remains the same.

Nope and hasn't been for two years since the problem was first raised with Google.

Except that using Exchange for everything means that whenever you delete an email, it doesn't actually get deleted but gets put into the "Archive" folder!

The reasoning isn't that ridiculous considering the iPod isn't sold subsidised by carriers who tie their customers into a two year contract. The number of people who change phone every single year are minuscule compared to those who change every two.

Microsoft Security Essentials. Small, light, free, doesn't nag and doesn't waste memory with a custom (non-standard) UI which you should never see anyway.

I'm not biased to any platform but the useful message presented here isn't helped by the fact that this is being slightly economical with the truth.

Blimey, hold down the power button and then press the home button? Wonder where they thought of that combination? :)

Indeed, mine too! It would be lovely to have an ultrabook which, when you take home and put into the dock on your desk, could also be used as a reasonably powerful gaming PC.

What's the betting that my Desire HD (which was launched exactly a year ago today - according to Wikipedia) will not get the upgrade for "performance and usability" reasons?

It if is a "fake story, period" why does Google have a cache of the site with the picture in question?

Does anyone know if the Reminders app syncs with Google Tasks?

I've sent an email to the author offering support in providing the area codes and descriptions (for the UK) in a format which will make it easy for him/him to integrate into the current application.

I'm sure they do. I'm more concerned over their inability to spot when they are having their leg pulled by one of their sources - as exemplified by their iPhone source.

The £8 UK one is definitely overpriced but, given the mediocre quality of these, you might as well just suck it up and buy the official one. At least it'll actually work!

Wasn't it a "trusted source" that told BGR that there were going to be two iPhones, one of which was going to have WiMAX and LTE? Or that the iPhone 5 was going to be Sprint exclusive? Or that the iPhone 5 was going to have a different case?

If you can afford it, then the best way to buy an iPhone is direct from Apple and then get yourself an O2 pre-paid SIM.

Why don't you disable voicemail? Not only will it remove the tape icon in your notification bar - but you also won't be giving people the wrong idea that you might actually listen to their messages in a timely fashion.

It's always acceptable to leave a voicemail if the person you are calling has voicemail enabled.
