1. An API for the standardisation of pop-up notifications.

@lewisboy: To be fair to Lifehacker, they run a lot of articles which are just plain common sense.

Interesting links. I was always led to believe that only American English used ... Charles's ... whereas International English uses ... Charles'

Don't bother with a sound card unless you are creating music. As long as you don't get the cheapest motherboard you can find, then it'll come with 5.1 surround as standard.

I would like a keyboard that works as well as the iPhone. So far, I've not found one.

@cat_on_a_hot_tinfoil_roof: Worth noting that the previous time the clocks changed, they had to issue an iOS and an iTunes update because people who were syncing via Outlook suddenly found all their appointments were an hour out.

@acidrain69: You and I have different views on "pretty well" then! :)

@Ccomfort: I have a 3G which has been affected by the 4.1 update.

In the carriers defence, it might have been more helpful if the ITU decided what didn't constitute 4G about ... ooo ... two years ago.

@homewmt: I would hazard a guess that Apple didn't consider the remote control application to be a "major application release".

@Shadow-Lurker: It's justified when you work for a company and, as part of your role, you need to meet people from other companies and need to pass onto them your contact details. Or to put it another way, when you start to get lots of people give you their business card, then you probably need one to give back.

@Ryan: To be honest, I'd prefer it if the default mail app just supported stars/follow up flags.

Worth noting that disabling "allow incoming legacy connections" will probably slow down your connection speed on the basis that lots of peers will be refused connection unless they use encryption.

@marcsiry: It makes perfect sense. If you're going to use something every single day then you might as well pay extra and get the quality and longer life. That's why my phone, my computer and my watch are more expensive than, say, my ski boots which only come out once a year for a week.

@iDon't even: To be honest, as plenty of other sites gave the product a poor review, I'm not entirely sure of the value of Giz sticking the knife in any further.

For UK based people, amazon.co.uk is pretty good for HDMI cables. I picked up 1M gold plated 1080p ones for under £2 each.
