Depends on the area you live in. If you’re in a highly competitive market and volume starts to go down, the insurance companies will literally get into a price war with one another driving the price as low as they can.
I’m very thankful my state requires everyone to have uninsured motorist coverage. I feel awful hearing stories of people in states without it
Unfortunately it’s just a reality of insurance but you know that. Shared risk means some people benefit huge and others get the short end. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen claims that paid out near 6 figures on a 2 month old policy with a couple hundred in premium paid.
If a bunch of other people in your area with the same car decided to total them, it’s entirely possible.
you will probably lose your spot to someone on the waiting list and won’t be able to go back there once this is over if you stop paying.
What about the nurse who is still commuting to the hospital everyday with liability only on her old Toyota and she gets plowed into someone who suspended their coverage while they were on the way to horde more toilet paper.
No because people fudge those numbers constantly. There is no way for them to verify (unless you participate in their tracking discount systems) and no penalty for you lying.
I mean, cost includes all the executives’ salaries so it’s better than them not getting anything.
