This might be too technical for a ‘car blog for non-car people’ though.

Jalopnik... the blog of miatas and brown station wagons always being the answer... is a car blog for non-car people.

According to an anonymous source quoted in the newspaper, Trump was doing everything to secure a vaccine against the coronavirus for the US, “but for the US only”.

I don’t think ‘herd immunity’ was on Helmut’s mind at all. He just wanted to infect them now to eliminate the risk of them getting it during the course of the season.

We also now know there are between 2 and 8 strains of the virus, some of which appear deadlier than others. Intentionally infecting people with the weakest of the strains (provided it immunizes you against the more deadly ones) might not be the most insane idea out there.

But an anonymous source said it’s true so that’s as good as fact these days.

Dear God, I pray for the day when people stop reporting on what anonymous sources claim. A pillar of journalism used to be to never cite anonymous sources but that ideal has been dead for quite some time.

Financial experts says to save the money and not splurge it...

Hey, I can spend $1000 and make $3000 profit (cost of my labor essentially) to do a job that mechanics charge $4000 for...

I’m sorry that you have a fundamental lack of understanding how the real world works. Not everyone goes out and replaces old used cars with brand new cars. Usually they are replace with newer used cars. Except that couldn’t happen in C4C, it had to be a NEW car.

Yes there was and it GREATLY benefited the less fortunate, young drivers, migrant labor ETC. They are the people who suffered the most from cash for clunkers and they watched the cost of those vehicles go up 4-6 fold.

No one is talking 1967 numbers. This is real world 2008 numbers. $500 was 100% an attainable price for an older vehicle that still ran reliably.

There were plenty of old 90s vehicles on the road that were junked. $500 was 100% a realistic price point for an early 90s running Buick, Chevy, Ford that would pass a safety inspection. There is an entire segment of the population that relied on extremely cheap, basic transportation.

No it didn’t make sense back then. Trying to entice people out of vehicle that had paid for themselves several times over to encourage them to take on debt so we could goose auto sales was so incredibly short sighted. One of the worst government programs in recent history.

OR... Ford could just release some promo shots now that they have been leaked. Movie studios have moved to this model where they will release the full trailer early if a crappy looking leak gets out there. Why let people’s first reactions be negative. If Ford would have dropped proper photos of the Bronco Sport, this

THEY JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT LIGHT UP!!!

They said in the Gemera article comments that they don’t abide by review embargos so they don’t get invited to events anymore. Who knows if that’s true or if it’s the other way around. The quality of articles and writing on this site has really been in steep decline over the last few years. I’m lucky if I find two
