I can get behind Jeff Bridges as the Giver (though I picture him WAY older). Meryl's good for Chief Elder, even though it is a small role. I am almost never sold on Katie Holmes in anything. I just...I just can't with her.

Seriously? That's who she's playing? I couldn't figure it out, because I thought "well, the kids are all Twelves. Who on earth is she playing?"

See, I was thinking more Selena Gomez as Maria, Justin Beiber as Tony. THE LOVE STORY YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE WITNESS TO.

OKAY.

That's what I'm thinking. This just overwhelming, in your face racism, where is it coming from? Maybe I'm just a naive "can't we all just get along" type of gal, but it seriously concerns me to see young kids displaying this level of anger and hate.

A big part of his talent is his charisma and charm. Oklahoma put that well on display, as did Boy From Oz ... Jean Valjean isn't exactly the most charismatic character.

Absolutely agree. Her comment to me just smacked of someone who hasn't been criticized all that much (or at least has been shielded from criticism).

Oh, I know. SOO high.

Agree. Not crazy about the fit, but I do think she should live out the rest of her days in that color. It looks so insanely gorgeous on her.

I think with Hugh (I refuse to defend Russell Crowe's performance) it had to do with the range. Jean Valjean is an INCREDIBLY hard role to sing; it jumps all over the performer's register, goes pretty insanely high. I think he handled it as best he could, but I have definitely been impressed Hugh Jackman sing in

I agree. I think that the production as a whole was pretty bad (except Audra and Laura OHMYGODILOVETHEMBOTHSOOOOMUCH) but I think she gets the brunt of it because A. they were really promoting the hell out of "The Sound of Music Live FEATURING Carrie Underwood" and B. because that role really carries the whole show.

Ehh.

I agree to a point. She is still a professional, and it is her job to perform to the best of her ability. She took it on because she thought she could handle it. Did her ego and flattery get in the way with the decision? Possibly. I was a theatre major in college, and I know that a performer knows how well they

OKAY. This drives me crazy.

So Dita von Teese gets to have that face AND Cyd Charisse's pointe shoes?

It's such a lovely song though. Try singing it to a Frenchman, see what he thinks.

Correct. But maybe singing "Edelweiss" to a German is just doubly confusing for them, so yes, don't sing it.

I love that she got the word "abort" in there as well.

Careful, now. Lest you incur the wrath of millions of diehard Broadway-philes.

Not by Disney, but written by Rodgers and Hammerstein.
