If I watch too much of him, I get a lil burned out on it yeah, but I like that he’s committed to showing what ACTUAL people eat in the places he goes and the ripple effects on their culture it has, not just what the rich people eat. And, tbh, he’s still on my Would Do list so ... I can’t hate that hard.

Yeah, I was really not a fan of Difficult People, I haven’t seen any of the other stuff you mentioned, but I was surprised by this. If you’re going to watch at “look at these terrible people and their fucked up lives,” this is the show I’d recommend.

I really loved it, and I was skeptical. It manages to portray the characters as unlikable in a way that felt real, not like in Difficult People where they were just ... manic pixie assholes, it felt so forced. Plus, Casual IS SO FUNNY. And dark, fucked up relationships with your parents and children funny. So. Good.

YES I loved that movie.

Man I cannot wait to binge watch these incredibly dysfunctional people again. I LOVED the first season, and I was really surprised how much I liked it. I am not a fan of the ‘unlikeable person’ TV that’s popping up all over the place (Difficult People, Love, etc) but DAMN these guys felt...real.
