This is a very timely article for me, i was looking into these last week... i have a NAS that i am looking to back up with 4 TB of data.

the headless client configuration is not supported by crashplan. if something goes wrong, you are on your own.

Tokyo is great if you can read english. pretty much everything on signs is in both japanese and english. a lot of people also speak english, it may not be fluid english, but it can be enough to help you with some things. once you get a little ways out of the city, you will start to see less and less english.
