It’s not weird. Many of the core cadre of jezebel writers are, and always have been, bullies, who view all events through the lens of “how can I feel morally superior by putting someone else down”. The form has changed since kindergarten, but the motivations haven’t.

Intersectional Feminist Writer: Ugh, I can’t even with these people who won’t wake up and see the sexism all around them!

Yea, that’s a really shitty way to wrap up an already odd post. I wonder if there’s a readily available statement, ideally one that’s both overly dismissive and mean-spirited, that I can repurpose as a reply?

yeah it’s extremely fucking, whats the word, petty?

I really don’t know how I feel about these sort of posts. They appear too often to ignore. A twenty-something celebrity is trying to vocalize that they’ve been on the receiving end of sexism. Ok.

While the effort is appreciated, the process itself should perhaps remain behind closed doors.

Don’t give me that bull about ‘ only lip syncing during high energy dance numbers’. If Sutton Foster can belt out Anything Goes while dancing her ass off, for 8 shows a week, then you have no excuse not to do the same for what you charge for a ‘live show’. If you can’t do it, then don’t tour.

Like, what’s the punchline?

Ladies I think we can all agree he’s likely never satisfied a woman in his life. Since I’m a dude though, I would hit and quit that shit. But definitely quit. Like, “Uber has already been called before we’re done” quit.

Sure I’d do anything to meet Ja Rule!

Although delivered poorly, I don’t think it’s bad advice. Code switching has been necessary for a lot of people, even poorer rural white people. My husband had a strong Kentucky twang as a kid, but he forced himself to get rid of it in college because of the treatment he received from people when he spoke. It sucks (I

I specifically remember a lady on the Oprah episode standing up and saying something like, “Why make such a big deal about it? I’m not on the cover of Time announcing, “I’m straight!”...” Ellen, not missing a beat, replied something like, “Actually, the people at Time are trying to get in touch with you...” and

Yep, and it’s why I and a lot of others were so disappointed with the article a couple months back that Bobby wrote that took her to task for daring to have the audacity to deal with bigotry in the way that she saw fit.

Absolutely. People tend to forget the backlash she suffered for this. Everyone complained that the show was “too gay” after this episode. And her career tanked for quite some time. I am so happy for her and the success she has had since.

Younger people may not realize, this was a HUGE deal at the time. Like, the world stopped and watched this happen.

I seriously doubt that anyone writing for Fusion or The Root (or even Jez for that matter) have any understanding of what “satire” is.

It’s pretty obvious she is making light of the irony around going to a prison and feeling free. That’s the joke. I mean, come on. This website is like the liberal Breitbart. Do you even know what you’re mad about anymore or are you just frantically searching the internet for something someone said so you can get upset

Is this a real post? I’m honestly confused. Are you angry at a comedian for making a joke? Or...like...something?

“Think Robin Thicke and the song is gross as you will but this was a really shitty decision for music.”

You’re right. Kissinger’s ability to diss someone who is unfortunately relevant in a way we find momentarily entertaining as we all prepare for various dystopian fictions to manifest into our current reality also translates to complete forgiveness and unanimous approval for Henry Kissinger.

Or are we just saying ‘even
