Hm, I read “I have a wife, daughters, sisters and females on my staff so I protect women everyday.” less as patronizing and more as a direct response to Banks’ claim that “...the men in the room allowed it to happen.” She pretty openly accused RZA of not protecting her, seems like he was responding to that without

But they’re fundamentally different. It is a business transaction. Business is regulated.

I mean, sure, we shouldn’t. But we do. Vast majority of people I know had absolutely no talks with parents about sex or how to do it or anything of that nature. We all learned through porn, that’s the norm these days.

seriously. it’s funny to see people screaming for self regulation on a liberal site

Yes, it would be great if porn didn’t set a standard of normalcy in a lot of minds and boners (both re condoms and women), but it does.

Okay so are you willing to do away with all of the useless regulation, all of the regulation that doesn’t actually keep people safe, and the like?

Because it seems to me, that this condom regulation, is not being proposed in sincerity, but rather as a tool to strike out against an industry that they don’t like.

It would be nice if more porn included the use of condoms, to help normalise it for viewers and perhaps decrease the percieved ‘unsexiness’ of them. This does not appear to be even close to the best way to go about doing that.

It’s not just tossed at biracial folks. I was first introduced to the slur as a word thrown at black people who were deemed insufficiently black because of their likes, hobbies, mannerisms, etc.

It’s internalized racism. We’re taught that real black people can only speak in AAVE, can only dress or act a certain way, can only be interested in certain things. If we stray outside those boundaries then the general culture assumes we’re putting on airs and we wish we were white.

Yeah, it’s internalized racism. The recent coverage of police shootings should have taught people that being black doesn’t mean you can’t do racist shit to your own people.

Not to mention that slur has been used by black people on other black people. So, this whole, “She can’t be racist. She’s black!” is a bit mute.

An Oreo is also offensive slang for a black person who is “white on the inside.” Usually reserved for someone who “acts white”, but even people who are part white get called this.

Ok, so for everyone not biracial you may not know this but oreo is actually a thing that some ignorant people have called biracial individuals. Growing up in the south I was called oreo, chocolate milkshake and weird shit like cracker- n***er. The cupcake being called Mr. President could irritate folks sensitive

If she was white, it would be racist, and everyone here would concur.

Being black doesn’t make someone ‘not racist.’
Noting a commonly used slur, isn’t overly sensitive given our current climate.

Of course sometime’s it’s accidental, but often it’s not.

Watermelon is fucking amazing but I would think twice before calling a watermelon drink the Martin Luther King Jr.

Hypocrisy and double standards don’t outrage you? They really should.

I don’t normally comment, but I felt the need to point out the hypocrisy of this article. I’m all for pointing out if a women is being body shamed, for whatever reason, but to call a white, non curvy, white, blonde, blue eyed girl a “ walking bowl of buttered noodles” is absolutely doing the SAME DAMN THING.

Now playing

Eh...I’m slightly more inclined to believe Hough meant it the way she says because that dance was terrible and uncomfortable to watch.

I was nodding along with you until I froze remembering all the racist douchebags* who freaked out about Rue from the Hunger Games being “made” black even though she was literally black the whole time, you guys. Obviously it didn’t hurt the franchise any at the box office, but those people do exist.

- Tim Burton, basically.
