I’m pretty sure those were front wheel drive. That let the designers have a flat floor I'm there living quarters.
This. Too many people on this site haven't even visited rural America and have no idea just how big or car focused it is.
I got bored and made this, and I stand by it 10000%.
I remember having a company commander who thought that a meter was about the length of a heel-to-toe footstep. He was a West Point grad.
There’s a weird subculture of WWII ‘reenactors’ which never gets the ‘look’ of the period quite right because the participants are all too middle-aged and fleshy to be believable soldiers in WWII. The real WWII look was gaunt and undernourished,
And then when Karen realizes you aren’t going to bend over backward to impress her, she will ask for your supervisor!
Right. I worked in a UAW shop, and dues were negligible. No right-thinking person would give up 30-50% of their wage to the union. Smells like an industrial farm-sized pile of bullshit to me.
30% union dues? Which union does this?
It’s an inherent result of the car’s basic design. Kind of like how any car with a solid live rear axle will have issues with axle hop. It’s just... part of the package.
The entry-level Model 3 at $35,000 is like the elusive dick-skin condom: It’s not a real thing, and anyone who says they’re using a dick-skin condom is just lying because they’re an asshole.
You would have the attention of the entire Jalopnik commentariat if it were the last diesel Cruze hatchback with a manual in Pepperdust Metallic (the closest thing to brown). None, however, would be willing to have actually bought one, however.
I think the problem for BEV chargers in rural areas is more of a chicken-and-egg problem. There are few EVs, so little incentive to install chargers.
And she’d rather maximize the chances of taking back the White House in 2020 than take a completely useless stand that, as you correctly noted, will never result in an impeachment. It’s mindboggling to me that people refuse to understand this.
I’ll believe that as soon as I start seeing this fucking thing somewhere than on the cover of Popular Mechanics every 5-7 years since 1985.
Yup. Usually rich people understand money and assets quite well. And to most, a commuter car is just a liability. So pay for the minimum-level liability that will suffice. A Honda will usually do just fine.
You’d be surprised. I remember a study from a few years ago found that rich people most commonly owned a Ford.
Well, I, for one, am totally shocked by this news. I always assumed that Model S and Model X buyers were highly price sensitive, budget conscious consumers who typically cross shopped with the Prius c.
In the past, it has been just the opposite. The only hybrid that sold had to obviously be a hybrid at 100 feet. It was conspicuous consumption for tree huggers.
Almost as fearful as roaming nomadic hordes of Floridians due to global warming swallowing up real estate. 😀
