I did time with many men who had been convicted of sex crime. Please believe me when I tell you they were offered no real protection from the inmates who were motivated…

Ex-cops are usually incarcerated away from other inmates (which actually has some dee-lightful psychological side effects) not because they’re “trying to protect their own”, but because of liability - you *know* the gofundme-starting, head-in-the-sand Holtzclaw family would sue the prison…

agreed. also like it or not former police/correction officers need to be protected in prisons. they are high targets for other inmates. this guy is scum but i’m not here for a prison system that doesnt protect inmates

I’m guessing that they they have to take measures to ensure his safety because of liability issues, and possibly because of “undue punishment” concerns. I think that all former law enforcement types get some form of extra protection.

And it’s not just black, it’s SUPER BLACK. It’s like 14.7% more black. It was a big deal when they started offering BLACK as an optional black, but BLACK is only 5.8% blacker than black.
