@SG79: I do know what you mean by that last paragraph. I have much love for the NES era and in particular games that were obscenely difficult because they required memorization or lacked modern control schemes, like Ghosts 'n Goblins and the early Castlevanias and Ninja Gaidens. Then there are people that can't stand

It goes along with a thought process me and a few others have been talking about lately: people who have been playing games since the 8- and 16-bit eras who feel a disconnect with the latest generations of games. There is a lot of ground to cover in that regard, but there is something endearing about the abstraction

@Paul Starke: That is... incredible. There should be a code to make that possible.

The Pac-Man Fever continues to spread after thirty years, Swine Flu-style. So contagious, people I know who don't even play games on a regular basis spent at least an hour on that thing.

@Chewblaha: Mr. Owen Good lives up to his last name. ;) I lost the Star fair and square, but earned it back fair and square. Now who should I be recommending for Hypermultitap...? NO BRIBES! _<

Oh please... of course piracy has hurt the PSP, but it's hurt almost every system. I'd wager that the DS has a more sever piracy problem with the R4. It's more an image and placement problem: there are many great games, but they don't appeal as well to Western audiences. Look at the successful titles in Japan where

@Chewblaha: I was thinking brevity would be important. I am proud to have made the playoffs though, and some of those others are damn damn good.

Mine is up in the Kaboom! Bracket #3. For a steal: "He took the candy, pacifier, AND the stroller from that baby!"

@Chewblaha: It was like throwing a paper airplane at a concrete wall. ;_;

Madden could use some competition. It makes for extra incentive to improve the game so as to stay ahead of another series. Did wonders for the hockey, basketball, and soccer (or "real football") games. Maybe bad for EA and Madden sales, though.

Clearly a young Sonic fan. Oh the disappointment to be displayed by his Mario-faithful parents.

I think it's obvious what Kotaku readers would like to know: which member of the staff is really a Cylon?

Yes... what would you do?

@OfficerJesus: I'm never looking for a constant stream of Game of the Year candidates, just consistent quality. Capcom may not have consistency in terms of originality, but they have released a stream of high-quality titles with some mediocrity in between. There is a place for originality, yes, but honing a formula

@PacJack360: Yep. Still would like to see what this reboot might be all about.

@OfficerJesus: See, but that's just it: what of the large gaming companies DOESN'T have some identity dilemma? The bigger a business gets, the more their words are picked up by the media and the more scrutiny is put to their games and politicking. For Capcom's sake, I think there are far more vile actions being taken

@PacJack360: Personal opinion but also one shared by many others: game really went downhill after MK2. Not that it was ever a technical marvel (Jax / Mileena were far too dominant in 2), but 3 introduced dial-a-combos that did far more damage than any of the traditional "juggle" combos did, often making the game a

@OfficerJesus: Okay... but when Chris Redfield breaks down your door and hauls you away, you'll have nobody to defend you but Phoenix Wright, who will have a major Objection! to such a line of thought. :o
