Seriously. The notion that they would pioneer (compendiums!) and encourage the kind of prize pools they do without even the slightest movement toward protecting the labor (many of whom are minors!) isn’t surprising to me, but it is still appalling.

Yet more evidence that professional DOTA labor, and indeed esports labor in general, is in dire need of organization. The money isn’t huge, compared to other pro sports, but these are competitions and leagues with really young talent, all of whom are in desperate need of representation and collective bargaining in…
This kind of behaviour baffles me.
We don’t have to just ‘deal with it.’ We can show them the fuckin’ door. Their inability to function like normal human beings isn’t our problem. We ain’t raising these asshats. We don’t need to provide them a safe and secure place to deposit the radioactive garbage they use in lieu of actual human interactivity.
Honestly, just disable chat for Twitch, it’s so fucking AIDS anyway.
Terrence Miller loves card games. Long before he took second in the Dreamhack Austin Hearthstone tournament earlier…
I find the concept of paying a $200 dollars at least hourly to get a corporation to notice your legitimate complaint for something they should’ve done their due diligence on absurd, yet entirely an American explanation.
Agreed. This was Wong no matter how you look at it.
More like Stupid. A virtual game does not trump reality..., ever.
But he wasn’t harassed before he called them out in a public and unprofessional matter. Having his twitter handle in the game would have caused him zero grief, especially because the fake tweets were so bland and uneventful. I’d understand if the fake tweet spouted hate speech, but it was an incredibly innocent tweet.
Nononono. Heres the thing it was ok for him to send them a personal message, or email, or go straight to getting a lawyer. He didnt really get harrased until he insulted the game and sent twitter messages out. So since he made the first shots, he opened the shitstorm we see here.
Or: “You, a person, are less important than a game. Get back in your place.”
“The game is bigger than you. Behave,”
Yeah we’re old and it’s even more apparent on Twitch.
Reading novels worth of text. I’m sorry Pillars of Eternity, I love you, but could you get to the friggin point already and let me do something cool, I have to read enough emails and code at work.
Minor graphics improvements - I don’t care that the PS4 Pro makes that one fuzzy bush now look sharper. I don’t give 2 shits about the quality of Scorpio’s pixels. As long as the basic/slim consoles play the games, that’s about all I really care about.
MMO’s. I just don’t have the time.
Video Game Shit I’m Too Old For: Grinding.
Right. It’s not the idea of $20 DLC that’s a problem. It’s that they decided to prioritize getting paid DLC out before finishing the damn game.
