Breaking Bad is my pick as it edges Mad Men just by a smidge.

Breaking Bad. I know there were no last-minute curveballs, but it ended the way it had to, the way we knew it would from the beginning.
Mad Men. I didn’t think they would but damn they stuck the landing. The scene with Don hugging the crying gentleman during the group confessional is so fucking powerful and right. I’d also add Peggy and Stan made me super happy to boot.
This is why my favorite movie of this era is “Real Genius”. It mines a very similar space, except it casts the nerds as affable, clever, real and believable people as opposed to caricatures.
Well that just re-texturized Rich Dicks for me from Kroll Show.
You couldn’t be more correct. Not to mention that there were even women at the time like Amy Heckerling for example, making or writing for films—with much more depth and nuance usually—that still wouldn’t fly today, understandably. Everyone at the time thought it was the “norm”.
This movie is hardly alone in the crowd of 80's comedies that include rape/sexual assault as a joke. The culture has shifted a lot in 40 years and there are precious few comedies from that era that don’t make me uncomfortable on a rewatch now. It’s really no wonder that so many Hollywood bigwigs are getting caught up…
Pajiba’s usually pretty good at TV coverage, but it’s been a while since I stopped by there, so grain of salt and all that.
Unfortunately it’s not getting episodic coverage, which is par for the course here at the ye ole A.V. CLUB.
Well damn...
CanCan we get some more original reviews on this show? I've really enjoyed it so far, but all I read is that it has nothing to say. Not my impression at all
The constant need, for the media, to qualify Endgame’s all-time box-office spot with a “not adjusted for inflation”, as if to say “it doesn’t really count”, is kind of weird to me.
There’s four words in this review that still inspires me to watch this show: Karl, Urban, Elizabeth, and Shue.
Which one is making the hard pass?
Damn you.... you’re right.
I can see it now... this all ends up with Piratebay getting a moon base and satellites.
Saying this is more proof that Kayne is a mental case is like declaring that water is wet at this point... but yeah.
I know it doesn’t preclude something from being it’s own kind of good, but I just immediately lose interest now whenever we get “comic book side character or setting gets it’s own thing” type show.
Bad Bloys, bad Bloys, what’cha gonna do?
Very excited for the returns of GLOW and Fincher’s very underrated Mindhunter. Also intrigued by the Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance series and I’ll definitely give Wu Assassins a look if for no other reason than Iko Uwais.
