I’m partly sore due to a volleyball game yesterday, and I haven’t played in a few weeks. I guess that means I should move my joints more than I have been.

The kitchen of my final restaurant job always had fun with their Thanksgiving leftovers. One Black Friday brunch our special of the day was a Monte Cristo made with leftover turkey and stuffing for the bread. Holy cow, was is rich. You could probably make some sort of bastardized version in your waffle maker.

It is! What’s up?

I am turning into a weather wuss. It’s currently 38º where I’m at, and it’s one of those damp colds that makes my joints hurt. Meanwhile, it’s a balmy 26º at my parents’ house in Iowa, so they’re not doing too bad considering that they got a fair amount of snow yesterday. What’s going on in your neck of the woods?

My MIL always says that she only has one drink in the evening....that gets refreshed 4-5 times with more booze and ice. That’s the way to go!

You are not wrong, but I find the human brain to be interesting. Understanding what motivates people has always been a challenge for me.

Any psychologists out there? What’s your take on someone like Cosby? Narcissism? Delusions of grandeur?

I’m not anti-holiday, I’m just anti-production. I’d rather just hang with my family/friends than do some whole big thing with gifts and games.

And I vaguely knew they existed from the initial Kinja changeover, but I never set about to read them. People have been linking to them in other posts, so down the rabbit hole I go!

Can I just say that I am having a grand time discovering some of the sub-blogs on Kinja? There are some pretty nifty people on Kinja putting out some interesting and entertaining work.

Is it a plain white wall with nothing on it? I can’t imagine him wanting to stare at a wall with any vibrant colors or imagery.

In this particular case, the student is a straight A student taking advanced classes. Thankfully, she also has parents who are now on her like nobody’s business (Where were they before? Who knows?!). The unfortunate thing about my community is that our parents kind of check out once their kids hit middle school, when

My mom makes amazing homemade cinnamon roles that are so sticky, delicious, and covered with an obscene amount of frosting. I 100% cut those up and eat them with a fork otherwise it is all over my fingers and my face, and nobody needs to see that.

I’ll give you that with a 30%/70% split between incompetence and destruction. I think a lot of people with wealth like the idea of doing X/owning X, but they don’t actually have the knowledge to do it well. It’d be like me going to one of the wine and painting places and thinking it made me the next Picasso.

I’m going to bet it was strictly because she was caught purchasing what I’m going to assume was weed on school property from another student.

Let’s just say I discovered some back muscles that I had forgotten about. The upside is that is now that corner of the yard is cleared to build a shed!

I’m in zone 9a/9b, so I miss out on some cool plants.

That is absolutely fair! Enjoy!

The previous owners of my house had an unchecked bulb problem. We ripped out probably a 20 ft by 15 ft patch of lilies (not the pretty kind, the stringy orange kind) with a bulb base about 6 inches thick. That was not fun. It was such a breeding ground for mosquitoes and snakes.

We call those meat maxi pads in my house.
