I saw this line coming from the set-up, but that didn't stop it from being hilarious.

My thoughts too. He was something of a dark mirror for Raylan, the main thing that he lacked that Raylan had was wisedom, which is why Raylan getting out alive feels earned. Raylan's wisdom is what allows him to get out in the end.

As dark as it would have been, I could have accepted it, I believe. The show was well made enough that Raylan dying in that quickdraw duel would have worked as an ending for that character. The plausibility of that as an ending for Raylan made that scene all the more tense for me.

Arkin always did a good job, as you said.

Boyd did try to shoot Eva in the head. His gun being out of bullets doesn't make him not evil because he still had that violence in his heart. He made the evil choice, circumstances saved him from the consequences.

What if Raylan really did die there and everything after that shootout was his happily ever after dying dream?

Or that finale where Bob Newhart woke up in bed and realized his entire show was a dream and then out of fear and panic choked his wife to death in his bed next to him screaming "I don't know you! This is all wrong!"

    The finale of Mr. Belvedere?

I'm a straight man, so this is purely from an factual standpoint, but I doubt anything can top speedo Jere Burns in the sexiness department.

He's no Odenkirk when it comes to acting, but he was fun for what he was on Justified. The fact it was Patton and you knew he wasn't going to have a second layer helped sell him as trustworthy and decent.

Tim show wouldn't work unless Tim literally had no personal life. Snarky Tim is best Tim, and I don't think I'd enjoy seeing him be introspective or emotional.

Wynn knew everybody was going to collide, and all he had to do was sit out and see who won. Eva was probably his preferred winner since he offered her a way out and she offered him tons of money.

I've always pitched that Quarles was right and such a show should be called "Wynn Win", it seems with all his money it's an even more fitting title now.

    Joe stray thoughts:
    1. Wynn made it out alive! I felt a little cheated that we didn't get one last epic Wynn-ism, but the idea he's off surfing in Fiji is a pretty big win (pun intended) for a criminal. He faded out as he came in, in the shadows, and knowing when to leave and when to stay. It's fitting that the only

I liked the guy named Ethan and his trip to go backpacking in Prague, mostly because immediately after Skye's mom is like "see, we've got nice people here".

    2 Stray thoughts:
    1. I'm wondering if there is any significance to the 'POST TO TRESS KEEP" (?) sign Raylan saw before going to Bob. Was it supposed to make him think 'promises to keep' or something? I'm sure fan speculation will have lots of thoughts on this.

    Joe's stray thoughts:

Are you telling me that well written engaging television is more deserving of extra time than Katey Segal montage music videos? Pfft, that's crazy.

I've never seen this many "A" episodes in a row on AVClub ever. Maybe we have somewhat generous reviewers but even so, there is no denying this is a historic streak of awesome episodes.
