Maybe the Gazebo he and Noah sat in was cursed. That would make for an interesting plotline.

Yep, I think the one clear cue to the audience is how we see her instruct Rick to wait to stop Pete. Rick could have stopped Pete sooner, but then Pete wouldn't have killed old architect husband guy, and that was necessary for Mayor McCheese to see Rick's importance.

I don't think so. At least not in the same condescending way Carol meant it. At worst the writers think they are writing a simple story for fun, but they are in on the fun, they aren't doing it to be patronizing I don't think.

Here is an important distinction: I get the impression he didn't lock the parishioners out, he locked the zombies out but then didn't unlock the doors when the parishioners came screaming to him. It wasn't not letting others in it was locking the doors and then going into denial over the whole thing. It syncs up with

I want so many more stories about Carol's chocolate stealing empire, how nobody eats her food, and kid cookie monster. But mostly I want entire episode arcs dedicated to the pasta maker lady and her obsession with pasta makers. All building to a series finale where after a run to the pasta maker store they return

This is my favorite post here.

You mentioned how the wolves wouldn't be much of a threat unless they were allowed to enter Alexandria. Which scared me…

It wasn't until after the episode that I realized that Carol's slight gesture towards Rick wasn't a "wait to use force to stop this man" but rather a "let him be violent/dangerous, him hurting/killing somebody is part of my plan"

They really should have just had a line where Rick goes "you guys know you turn if you just die, right?" and they go "yeah" and then he goes "oh ok, good".

To be fair, TWD isn't necessarily the best place for actors to really flex their talents. So a few of them probably are better than they might seem on this show.

So it wasn't just me that got a "is he secretly blind" vibe from him?

I do believe, sir, that the line you are thinking of is "I know Kung-Fu"

"sitting around and going batshit alone in a pile of my own garbage".

I'd say it "dabbles" in nuance, character depth, and a general sense of importance. I don't think the people making the show really think it's this transcendent art piece, just a fun action thing that they try to occasionally elevate with mixed results.

Hey now, it took confidence to build that wall. I'm sure whoever did it really had to stick his neck out.

You can always pretend Tara is dead. It'll probably be a while before her character does anything.

God is the only stain fighter he needs.

I'm wondering if they just seem weaker, or if in universe most zombies are actually weaker because it's been a while since most of them turned.

I liked that shot. It may have been a "look at me" shot, but I'd rather have interesting directing than real stale traditional directing. And even if that shot didn't work for you, I think it's preferable that they take risks when it comes to directing, right?

When in the episode is it? It's not the real Busey is it?
