I believe the saying is, “there’s a sucker born every minute.” Although I would argue the rate is much higher.

Haha. Ya. But seriously, I was in Paris for New Year once and it snowed and was absolutely gorgeous.
How do you think this affects the odds that the US and UK go to war with Iran?
Don’t get me wrong, I like a good grilled steak, especially if it is grilled over pecan. However, my favorite steak is salted, dredged in cracked peppercorns and cooked on a stovetop in a mixture of olive oil and butter. No grill marks there. And the potential of the entirety of two surfaces are realized.
Someone said it before, here maybe, but the biggest mistake Lincoln made after winning the civil war was in not executing every last traitor in the bunch. I know, I know, for him it was all about “preserving the Union” and executing a shit ton of southerners wasn’t going to achieve that. But god damn those fuckers…
Friend of mine had a fifth of whiskey in his carry on. The TSA agent said, “Down it or toss it.” “Challenge accepted,” he replied. He downed the bottle. Needless to say, he was drunk and then taken off the flight when someone complained (he wasn’t rowdy or rude, just stumbly drunk and made someone nervous I guess).…
Regarding tradition, I think it was Nicos Poulantzas who said that tradition is what keeps a society and culture in the past instead of moving forward and progressing. So maybe this has been the problem with the United States all along: Our obsession with tradition and our rose tinted version of what those traditions…
People argue over this shit like it fucking matters. I dont like it. That guy does. Repeat ad nauseum. It is as pointless as the fucking “is a hot dog a sandwich” bullshit.
I’m curious what lying sack of shit will replace this one.
....from my cold, dead hands....
One of my biggest achievements to date is getting a former girlfriend of mine to reverse course on her life long hate of onions. It wasn’t really me though, all credit goes to the onion: I was making dinner one night and had a bowl of sliced onions ready for cooking, she - unprompted - grabbed one, ate it, said, “hmm.…
Honestly, Jaime and Cersei’s deaths were the only ones that I had a problem with. Well, also the untold smallfolk who were slaughtered, but at least that served a valid character arc. These two, however, got off easy. Particularly Cersei. While Jaime at least grappled with being a horrible person, Cersei cherished and…
Ha! Hadn’t thought of that.
But Daenerys isn’t on Arya’s list.
Ugh. Another “hot take” comparing this episode to Endgame. The only thing they have in common is that they premiered the same weekend. If you are going to compare the two, and the story arcs of the characters, Game of Thrones has plenty to rival any serialized superhero franchise and the story isn’t over yet. Endgame…
Can no one in Hollywood tell a story in 90 minutes anymore? Since the move to digital, it seems that the average run time of movies has been creeping up and up for no reason that I can tell. Most movies are longer than they need to be, with dragged-out scenes (particularly action scenes) and meandering, useless…
UKIP practically reveling in having racist misogynists as candidates
Well, a really good sound guy is mixing for the venue, not his one spot in it. The best venues have the sound booth in the middle of the place, but I’ve seen plenty of venues (small clubs mostly) where they are in the back, often up against the back wall. That’s not an optimal spot to mix for (as noted in this story).
Chao is involved? Make no mistake, if this gets green lit it will be a corrupt boondoggle of epic proportions.
Is that 6% who paid more a bunch of independent contractors? Because, I paid taxes on 10k more of income than last year, after a 6k increase in my income. The cut in deductions really screwed me over as I couldn’t deduct the vast majority of expenses directly related to the work I do.
