I had a baby on the way and the Mazdaspeed Miata I was driving wasn’t going to cut it.

That was my thought as well. Decent power, decent range, and decent price. It also has the power and the space they want.
I did 95 one way for 7 years, and it was wreaking havoc on my mental health. I’m down to 20 miles one way twice a week. I was teleworking full time, but Newsom wants us in the office 2 days a week.
Did you not watch the video embedded in the article? You can see the CT going up a hill, and hear the tires squeal as they lock up and drag across the asphalt. At no point did it go fast enough to launch anything. It was doing 30mph TOPS.
I seem to remember the rumor being the 6 Series was supposed to be a dedicated sports car platform, shrunk down to compete with the Porsche 911.
IIRC BMW originally intended to shrink the 6 series down to be a 911 competitor after they brought back the 8 Series.
They have laws and entire hospitals just for this in California. How he didn’t up at the Department of State Hospitals after this is beyond me. I work for DSH, and it consists of mental hospitals for people court ordered to be here. Either because they’re incompetent to stand trial and/or a danger to themselves and…
Got my wife spot on with the Leo, complete with an enormous mane of hair.
Plain gloss paints are so ridiculously trendy nowadays. It looks good in bright colors, IMO. But on dark colors it just looks cheap. It probably IS cheaper, as there’s likely no flake to add into the paint. According to the body shops I’ve spoken to, super deep and sparkly colors like Mazda’s Soul Red are notoriously…
Unless you have some big feet and WIDE-ass shoes, I can’t see someone being able to get enough force on the brake pedal AND accelerator to lock up the wheels without your foot slipping off the brake. You can hear the wheels skidding across the pavement in the video. And the pedals in the CT just aren’t that close…
I’ll take an R170 SLK over a Chrysler Crossfire any day of the week.
“We have reviewed logs and due to the terrain, the accelerator may or may not disengage when the brake is depressed...”
They specified a rear seat for a baby seat though. If that wasn’t a requirement, then a Corvette would be the correct answer.
Yeah, the SS has the edge in ultimate performance, and the mag-ride likely makes it more comfortable than the Charger as well. From what I’ve heard, even FINDING an SS with a manual is a challenge. Dealers were stocking way too many automatics for a purely enthusiast car. A nationwide search on Autotempest shows…
That was gonna be my answer. Just get another 135. Or get a 235i. The 135i is a bit of a collectable, so the 2 series is cheaper.
I’d be nervous about parts availability of the GTO, especially body and interior. I don’t think I could bring myself to track it.
I spend so much time thinking about whether the absurd GTO/G8 GXP/ Chevy SS prices stem from the Australians actually just making a car that jarringly well, or if it’s it just a scarcity issue among people who just want them terribly.
Why are you even here?
When did the ND Miata get so damn EXPENSIVE?
That transition from the front 3/4 view to the profile view in the second picture was JARRING. It does NOT look like it’s gonna be that long from the first image. I don’t love the design of the exterior, but he interior looks cool as hell IMO. Pick a nice, neutral color for the ambient lighting, and this looks like a…
