That’s actually a thing. I used to do it all the time when downshifting in my G35C. For example, while coasting to a red light with no pedal inputs at all, I would gently push forward on the gear shift.

I love this truck. Love it. I had an ‘07 with the 6MT (and it is for sure a six speed, not a five as indicated above) and I miss it.

I set my handbrake all the time on my slushbox equipped E90. Part of it is habit (this was my first auto in 20 years), part of it is irrational fear of letting the weight of the vehicle rest against the parking pawl.

I too hate the F30 loaners I get when I take my M-Sport E90 in for service, but they’re almost always a 320i (once I got a 328i). I haven’t driven the M-Sport 340i but I have to assume it’s a better drive than a base 320i.
