Tangentially related—for a while The Toy, starring Richard Pryor and Jackie Gleason, was also in heavy HBO rotation, and my brother and I loved it. Pryor was one of those people whose comedic talent was obvious even to two little nerds who had no idea who he was

He’s 80 and (I assume) has enough money to last for generations. Of course he’s contemplating retirement.

I think you’re thinking of that emo band that primarily appealed to teenage boys, Jimmy Beat Meat. 

Very cool feature. As a music enthusiast, I’m always looking for new (to me) sounds, and there’s a lot of stuff on this list that looks interesting.
