*sigh* Saw this one coming, and been through it a thousand times. Somebody who acknowledges that the manual gear box isn’t the superior option anymore can’t possibly know how to use one, right?

I’m going to stand up and say now - My name is Andrew, I’m 40yrs old, every car I have ever owned was a manual and at least one, if not both of my next cars will be an auto. There I’ve said it, I’m done with rowing my own, so is my OH, esp driving to and from work and city driving, traffic jams etc (flappy paddles…
Loominaty cumfirmed.
Me too, patiently waiting for “Miata is not the answer” and “Why wagons suck” articles.
People hump manuals like they’re the greatest thing since sliced bread because they think knowing how to use a clutch pedal makes them part of an exclusive club, or something.
(Full Disclosure:
BMW loaned us an M4 coupe with a manual. It wasn’t as enjoyable as an M3 with the dual clutch. That resulted in this, a blog post on the internet. I hate you all, and want you to know it before I leave.)
This was the eBay buy me now victim. I still get a little teary-eyed thinking about it leaving on the transport to head to its new owner, and that was at least 7-8 years ago. Bass boat, motorcycle, camper, self-finance... The offers were crazy on that thing.
Once bitten, twice shy. Cars I’ve sold were all in the $2-4K range. Nothing fancy but ripe for scams. Even when I write cash only in the ad, some dingleberry will offer to pay with a check. It’s nice being able to say no, you’ll pay cash or hit the road.
Guy could have simply been trying to build a stronger credit history. I know a LOT of people who have done this (they were smart and avoided credit cards as youths, but as a concequence they had not enough credit history when it came time to buy a house or whatever).
Judging people’s financial practices? That’s sad.
“Basically lost my dad’s side of the family over a Honda.” - Nah, you didn’t lose them, you got rid of them. You should be better of without them.
As I was in the process of selling my FD RX-7, some guy drove down, sat in it, then said it was “too small”, as if I had somehow changed the size of the car.
Say it with me:
I would have called the cops on Mr. “I’m not paying for this.”
I know that my Nissan is suspected to have a dangerous airbag. Can't do anything about it. Hopefully my family and I can avoid finding out ourselves.
Car murder you say?
BeamNG.drive is a driving game with racetracks and rally courses and real-looking cars and the veneer of…
Its a flawed system when their goal is to pay out as little as possible. If they had someone truly independent deciding on claims the system would actually work.
That’s why you do not buy on eBay anything which costs more than 10 bucks. If you do, make sure you can check item personally and bid later on ebay.
