True that. I daily a Crown Vic - there’s no going back once you get used to its boat-like momentum and body roll, its massive overhangs, and living room like interior.

Maybe you had one assembled on a Friday? Jokes aside, I’ve heard the LeSabres and Park Avenues of this are are generally fairly reliable and easy to maintain, and have seem many go quite far in terms of mileage. As with GM, however, it seems as if your mileage may vary!

Now that’s what I call a luxo-barge!

The first and second generation Town Cars are some of my favorites! Glad yours treated you well. :D

+1 on the 3800 V6 power. Seems like the Buick LeSabres and Park Avenues from the era are damn near unkillable.

Weren’t the late 90s/early 2000s Tahoes and Suburbans fairly robust?

A Grand Marquis. Once someone learns how to drive one they’ll be able to drive anything smaller than it with no issue - add on their reliability and the ease of working on them, and you’ve got a good contender IMO.

I have to disagree on the scenery quip; there’s no scenery like gritty 1970s NYC in my book. Since I’m more of a fan of landyachts than muscle cars, and given the huge variety of other cars in traffic as compared to Bullit’s repeated Volkswagen bug, I tend to give the car selection to The Seven-Ups as well.

Now playing

The chase from The Seven-Ups (1973) is very similar to Bullit’s, had the same stunt driver, and is the better of the two IMO.

I sincerely hope so!

Thanks. I’ve always wondered that.

Does UAZ stand for anything translatable, or should I keep calling them UP AND ZOOMs?

How could anyone do this to a shoebox Ford?

I believe that’s just the illumination from one of the ceiling lights from the interior of the car, given that it’s also reflecting on the door jamb.

Rockstar North, the developers of the game, are actually based in Scotland.

Might I recommend a full rear bench for such wholesome purposes?

Needs more velour, wood grain, and a column mounted gear selector.

The Taurus may be large on the outside, but its interior dimensions are fairly cramped for a car its size and its visibility is absolutely horrendous. The rear windshield is basically useless and the pillars are huge. A Crown Vic gave you room to spare and was practically an open air greenhouse by comparison.

Now that’s seriously awesome.

You would know. :3
