I think you’re onto something as how they’re related to Donks... that the Beetle in Brazil is still looked upon as an “everyone” car, where even the poorest families could have one... much like, say, a Caprice here in the US. But as ones’ income grows and one can afford a “better car”, they stay true to their roots…
