What dream? Buying a bunch of cars that you’re not driving and you’re probably not even looking at them much anymore because they’re all jammed together? I appreciate cars, but not when they’re just tossed in a shed and nothing is done with them. I’d rather have 10 cars in good running order that I can enjoy than 250

I agree. I thought the one the reasons of the lawsuit was too dig deep and to really find collusion that NFL teams were not going to hire him. Then the settlement comes out and I think, ok he had the owner by the balls and they really dont want to share that they blackballed him so it must be a massive settlement.

Bruh took the money and ran, and is still out here running back begging.  Get the fuck out of here with that.

I’m so confused.

He signed off on that ridiculous settlement. He can be ready ‘til the cows come home after that; he signed his own career death warrant after that fiasco as far as I’m concerned.

Funny how this comment is right below the comment thread about how that Deadspin article was poorly researched, clickbait-heavy, and overall an extremely bad take by a writer who is not a regular member of the Deadspin staff.

In their CBA, they settled for higher guaranteed salary pay and less proceeds from games.

Given that US soccer is a non-profit organization that represents the US government in international football

I was thinking the exact same thing. I would say they didn’t just suggest that, they derisively mocked them with that insinuation. Any correction to that, yet?

My first thought upon reading this article too... When will the retraction be issued?

Move along, nothing to see here.

This is a terrible analogy. I get what you are going for (it is true that the USWNT is well ahead of the USMNT when it comes to international success), but your NBA analogy totally misses the mark.

They face much, much tougher competition than the women do.

Hey, remember that time Deadspin said the men’s team doesn’t support the women’s team?

I have reached out to every member of the US Men’s soccer team, former President Obama, and deceased football legend Johan Cruyff for comment. So far I have received no response. I think that says it all.

Since Chinese swimmer Sun Yang won two gold medals at the 2012 Beijing Olympics, . . .

They don’t have to spend the money if they don’t want to, especially if they can get a better return on another investment. Maybe now they think the investment will pay off, or maybe the expense is worth the PR. Most people prefer to consume sports at the highest level which usually means watching (& paying) men play

Lol, just because they CAN doesn’t mean they SHOULD.
If it hasn’t become profitable to field a women’s team - which is the point of the comment - then it doesn’t matter how much money a corporation has. Throwing away money is never a good thing.

Because everything has to be someone else’s fault. This is 2019.
