And it’s easy to make. If you have a good butcher, you might just get the most tender lamb you’ve ever had. Get a boned leg to make carving easy. I haven’t made the chiffon pie in a while, but I don’t remember it being difficult, and it’s so light and airy, you’ll always have room for dessert. :)
I heartily recommend a leg of lamb instead of turkey. Rub garlic all over it, stick an electronic thermometer in the largest part, and roast until it hits the right temperature. Sides are mashed potatoes and peas. Pumpkin chiffon pie for dessert.
What about this kind of strolling?
Your list needs a flourless chocolate cake. 3 ingredients - eggs, butter, and bittersweet chocolate. No added sugar.
Most enjoyable.
I voted for HRC, but I’ve never really liked her, and I don’t know why. I mentioned this to my mom and she felt the same way. I guess it’s something in her personality/charisma that just rubs me the wrong way.
I’m bummed about Odwalla shutting down. I have fond memories of drinking Odwalla when I lived in Santa Cruz circa 1991. Everything was fresh-squeezed and had a shelf life of about 4 days. The orange juice, lemonade, and strawberry lemonade were all wonderful.
Eyes Without a Face has some lovely, gruesome creepiness. And it has received some very nice reviews after it’s U.S. re-release in 2003. But that one scene will stay with you a while.
I watch John Carpenter’s The Thing every summer. It helps me think cool. Also, Rosemary’s Baby has some good creepiness to it.
Do you have any recommended side dishes or perhaps a light sauce to serve alongside the confit?
I lived in Santa Cruz for a bit and CA seems to take all traffic laws seriously. I remember seeing a cop downtown making sure that cyclists stopped at the stop sign. A white guy I knew in Chicago, who was in San Diego for work, got stopped for jaywalking - I can’t remember if he got a ticket.
