This was filmed in July last year but only got shown on TV for the first time tonight, 16th September 2018. Ask me anything, I’ll try to answer as best as I can!
You’ll be happy to know that I finished it in time for Christmas!! It was a close call but the final coat of sealant dried by Christmas Eve and I was able to wrap it up for Chester on Christmas morning.
I’m starting to worry I won’t get it finished now!! 9 days to go until I need to have a finished garage (with dry paint) wrapped up for Chester on Christmas morning. This past 2 weeks or so I’ve been working on panting the various parts ready to start actually fitting the whole thing together. Problem is… it’s taking…
I’m knee deep in nappies and vomit at the moment with very little sleep happening but I’ve somehow managed to do a bit more on the garage! Hurrah!
Hello! Sorry for the 4 week delay in updating but the new baby came slightly earlier than planned! Chester’s now has a little brother called Ralph to share his (unbuilt) Mario Kart Garage with. Ralph was born on October 17th and mother and baby are doing really well.
It’s been a couple of weeks since my last update as I’ve been busy stripping the spare room to turn into nursery number 2 for the new baby (due on October 29th!).
This past week I’ve actually started making things! It’s harder than I thought! The first pieces I attempted were the question mark blocks. I’d printed out a six sided cube pattern as you can see in the image below.
Carrying on from last week I’ve finally managed to re-create all of the Mario Kart 8 advertising signs I’ll be using on Chester’s Garage! I’m really pleased with how they turned out, here’s a few examples:
I’ve spent the past week designing the general look of the garage and trying to decide which ideas to include and what to cut out. One of the key points I keep going back to is that it needs to withstand a sustained hammering from an enthusiastic 2 year old who likes to a play rough!
My son Chester is coming up to his 2nd Birthday (in early December) and he’s taken a keen interest in toy cars recently. My dad built me a wooden toy car garage when I was 2 (which I found in the attic the other week) and Chester loves playing with it while visiting Grandpa. This inspired me to carry on in my dad’s…
In an ideal world I would be playing Smash now as Waluigi while training up my Waluigi Amiibo to unbeatable strength.
This is a list in celebration of the imminent release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U and most importantly TWO NEW GAMECUBE CONTROLLERS!
