Indy was weird because the effect was near perfect until he spoke with the voice of cranky old man Harrison Ford.

I used to think you were a swell guy. Well, to be honest, I thought you were an imbecile. But then I figured out you WERE a swell guy... A little slow, maybe, but a swell guy. Well, maybe you’re not so slow, But you’re not so swell either. And it looks like you’re an imbecile after all!

Although some of that was the reverse problem. He was jumping like a cartoon character with a loose grasp of physics on the train, not like either the 80-year old man he was or the 40-year old man he was supposed to be.

Maybe it’s because he’s literally a Deus Ex Machina, but he seems to be the only acceptable - even universally-praised - “magical Negro”, from before that was even a thing. And it’s still such an underappreciated gem of a movie (Cobb’s performance is the button on it.)

His role in Demolition Man is the one I most remember him from, the old version of the rookie cop Stallone knew before he was frozen.

Yeah! I noticed it in a shot where he kneels down to pet the cat (er, flerkin), and when he stands up from kneeling, he just did it in a way that clearly looked like an old person standing up, not a younger person.
