Stewart wondered aloud why this longtime congressman doesn’t use one of the many lawful avenues of corruption that have benefitted his colleagues.

One of the things I most appreciated about the Special Editions are the shots where LucasFilm went in and removed or cleaned up matte lines, which make the practical effects IMO look better than they ever have before (I saw the unaltered editions as a kid and the de-specialized editions as an adult; the practical

At the time the hype and excitement to see a Star Wars movie in theaters at release was a huge deal.

Going through titles like Spinal Tap goes through drummers.

It’s exactly the kind of galaxy-brained take I’ve come to expect from people like Dorsey who have absolutely no concept of how the real world works.

Agreed. My two main concerns with it were that lack of people you mention (driven in part by a relative lack of features that are slowly being brought on, like DMs, GIFs, and hashtags) and the fact that Dorsey was involved.

Although you only have to subscribe to the services you want rather than being forced into packages with a bunch of channels you don’t, they’re simply charging a single big fee that’s getting bigger and will continue to do so.

Ultimately, streaming slowly morphing into cable is going to keep prices about the same for customers.

Oh, FFS. I don’t use the pencil often, but when I do it’s pretty handy.

I’m sure it will. I got a notification about Logic Pro 11 and it was hyping up all its various AI features.

There’s only the Magic Keyboard, which doesn’t allow you to fold it open flat or the Smart Folio, which doesn’t have a keyboard. I ordered both and I’ll likely use the latter far more often.

His interview with David Lee Roth was great. DLR was all over the place but Maron did a fantastic job of keeping him reined in without totally stifling him.

“This is a really dense film and I was told many times to cut it. I was like, ‘I just don’t want to cut it,’” he said. “I just find it very funny.”

An OLED display is what I was holding out for. The M4 is some very nice icing on that particular cake.

That was the glaring issue with SLJ’s de-aging in Captain Marvel as well. The man was in great shape for a 70-year-old but he clearly wasn’t 45 like Nick Fury was supposed to be in the movie.

OOF. I did see it, but I forgot about that aspect until you mentioned it.

Two things. First, the face isn’t the only thing that should be de-aged to make it fit. The voice should be as well. One of the jarring things about Dial of Destiny was Indy with his 40-year-old face but an 80-year-old voice.

and she’ll always be Adria the Orici to me

Sifl and Ollie is a deep cut! :D

It may have been (at least partly) a factor of where I lived at the time and/or the circles I traveled in online, but in my case while the racism angle was certainly mentioned, the overwhelming majority of the criticism followed what lightninglouie talks about, that it was a silly, goofy character that “ruined” the
