I’m wondering about this, too. I’d be interested in an ExpressVPN subscription so I can watch in-market games on MLB.tv but when I’ve tried it with my current VPN the site tells me what I can go do with myself.

Nothing wrong with that at all! It’s not dissimilar to timed console exclusivity in that way.
I liken it to home theater. It’s something I enjoy even though it’s objectively a chore to deal with as well as being expensive. But I’m absolutely not going to look down at anyone who just wants to plug a soundbar in and be done with it. That’s a totally valid choice too, and reflects their interests and priorities.
Yeah, that’s certainly a selling point if you use a PC as your daily driver; in my case I don’t like dealing with Windows and avoid it wherever possible. Another factor is that I like couch gaming and a big ol’ gaming PC doesn’t really work with my setup (says the guy with a PS5 and Series X behind the TV :D ). I have…
And aside from the cost, there’s the PITA factor. Consoles are simple and easy. They’re purpose-built devices that do one thing. You want a device that plays PlayStation games? Here are your two choices, pick one, plug it in, and have fun.
My friends and I, who were strong Honda stans at the time, used to refer to the Corsica as the “Corpsica” as dig toward its performance. And of course, GM also had its sister car, the Chevrolet Cadaver (Cavalier).
Monica was kind of a nothing character in WandaVision. Teyona Parris did what she could with the, frankly, pretty shitty material she was given to work with and the character ultimately failed to leave an impression
I liked Captain Marvel more than most people seem to and I think your assessment more or less matches mine. It was a perfectly cromulent movie and I felt and feel that it was worth the money and time I spent watching it. I was absolutely looking forward to an eventual sequel and wished that she’d had a larger role in E…
I can definitely understand being ride-or-die on one platform, but at least in terms of dollar (or pound, euro, yen, etc.) cost, consoles are cheap. If you added up the cost of all the current-gen consoles in my house, it would still be less than a good gaming PC would cost.
Could be worse, at this rate I think Fallout 5 is going to come out to coincide with the date the bombs dropped in-game.
Next-gen-only, eh? Hope I can get a PS6 or an Xbox Series 720 or whatever the hell they’ll be calling that one in time.
I had a conversation with the PA I was working with for a colonoscopy about pancreatic cancer and she said that there’s a genetic marker that, if there’s a family history and a person has that marker, they can get regular additional testing of some sort to catch it early.
Ah, okay, so this is how the return to the cable model is going to work - with mobile providers playing the role that Comcast/Spectrum/etc. play now. I wonder how they’re going to stifle competition like cable companies did with regional monopolies, though. Then again, even if they can’t replicate that specifically…
Exactly. OP’s comment and your reply are how people should be reacting to that kind of thing - basically saying “I wonder how they’re going to reconcile that” rather than what I’ve seen from all the self-appointed loremasters haughtily telling everyone that Fallout is ruined. But I guess that’s what makes them happy,…
And some people are fine with paying the premium associated with pre-built NAS cases. But others like to march in and insult people so they can strut their PCMR bona-fides, it seems; that’s the internet for you.
I use DVDFab to rip mine and yeah, while it’s not difficult, it’s definitely a timesink. And if you want to rip UHD discs, you have to be mindful of the model and firmware of the drive since only some of them can do it.
Now, now, Saru has a very important role - to tell Burnham she’s the most amazing, consequential, and perfect creature that the universe has ever seen since this show needs a scene like that several times a season to remind the audience.
I wasn’t up there so I don’t know all the details, just what my mom related to me and I didn’t want to press it. I do know they were doing some sort of palliative care but I don’t know any specifics. He was at home rather than in a permanent care setting like hospice so maybe that had something to do with it?
If you use RAID-quality drives, though, the cost goes up significantly. Looking at Amazon, 8TB (the size in each of my arrays) Seagate IronWolf NAS drives are going for $178.99. So for another 22.1TB array, it’s close to $800 including sales tax but adding the RAID enclosure is going to put it at or above $1000.
