I rip everything I buy as soon as I unwrap it. I know it’s not a perfect copy (I could make perfect copies but I only have 44.2 TB of storage and a lot of discs) but it’s better than nothing.

I use a product called StreamFab to download a copy of stuff from services I subscribe to or that I’ve purchased outright. It works well, though they do have to update pretty frequently to get around the streamers’ attempts to prevent it.
I saw one parked along the road two houses up from me last weekend and figured they were just waiting for a tow.
Huh. I use uBlock Origin and it’s great with the ads, but I do get the click delay. I’ll have to try AdBlock again; I switched a while back.
Leaving aside for a moment how gross that is and not using that specific term, I would like to note that Rebecca Romijn is a brunette in Strange New Worlds - a series that debuted 16 years after that movie came out, no less - and looks incredible.
My cousin had pancreatic cancer and took his own life last year at 55 because it was totally unbearable. It was terminal and they couldn’t even mitigate the pain; his abdomen kept filling with fluid and I can’t even begin to imagine how horrific it was for him.
That reminded me of this clip from Class Act:
Yes.
I figured as much; I strongly suspected that Microsoft wanted to shift into only making games for PC and that the only two choices if you wanted to play any of the exclusives they’ve bought up would be to buy a gaming PC or deal with streaming. That is, where the premium/non-premium options right now are a $300 Series…
I’d absolutely be on-board as long as you could download and install games on a PlayStation console and it wasn’t just streaming. This gives me pause:
That’s my stance as well. I think she was the best companion of the original RTD run and her departure was absolutely heartbreaking on top of the fact that it was sad to say goodbye to the character at all.
I long for the days when shows like this were totally innocent and above-board.
I look forward to hearing about their run as the Folksmen.
The funniest part was that he was trying to flex his wealth by implying that it means he can do whatever he wants with the platform and doesn’t need advertiser money to keep it going. Believe me, he could completely self-fund it and it’d be a rounding error! Many people are saying it!
I thought it was “murdering Mr. Jesus.”
Fortunately, the only problems I had with it weren’t transmission-related. The transfer case threw a bearing (the tech said it looked like a glitter bomb went off in there) and somebody PITed me while I was trying to legally pass on a two-lane road. But maybe those were the devilish influence of that 9-speed, looking…
Oof. My old Pilot had a ZF 9-speed but it was fine. It wasn’t nearly as buttery smooth as the DSG that was in my 2012 Passat, and the 10-speed Honda transmission in my 2023 Pilot is smoother and more responsive, but it felt like a perfectly cromulent gearbox.
Weirdly, my 2017 Pilot had a 9-speed transmission. Fortunately my 2023 model has a 10-speed.
That’s a great point. Being an out-of-touch asshole who preys on people they establish toxic parasocial relationships for financial gain is bad, sure, but it’s a hell of a lot better than actively grooming children or being a racist/homophobe/etc.
